but back on topic, will Fisher/Underwood NOT be married? Yeah, I'll take that bet. High profile marriages aren't exactly known for lasting in most cases, but I wish them the best (lol, need to cover myself so I don't look like too much of a jerk)

4:1 Patrick Roy is named the next coach of the Colorado Avalanche.
Leave it.

And sticking with that theme.

Therrien is fired and either Carbonneau or Roy replace him as coach within the next two seasons,

Close, but I'll pass on that one. Too many other possible outcomes.

A team other than Russia, Canada, USA or Sweden strikes Hockey Gold at the Olympics. (10:1)

Leave it. Although the fact that there's no end date to this makes me think twice. Who knows what Finland or Czech will look like in 20 years but except for 98 when Hasek was a god no other nation has won hockey gold (Great Britain winning in the 50's doesn't count lol). As long as the NHL keeps sending players (which I know is no guarantee but I can't see them stopping) those 4 nations will always be favoured.

A woman refs an NHL game (ref or linesman) within the next 5 years (3:1)

EDIT: Don't think this has happened yet, if it has my bad... free "money" lol

Lol leave it. I'd leave it at 300:1.

Referees and linesmen are graduated into the show through the AHL and make it there through ECHL, CHL, etc. I don't think there are any females working at those levels, never mind the A.

Mike Babcock coaches the 2014 Canadian Olympic team.

Take it. Coaches the best playing style for the Olympics among Canadian coaches IMO.

Gomez never scores another NHL goal (30:1)

Take it. He will have much better support from the backend.

A player not on Boston, Vancouver or St. Louis leads the league in +/- next year (5:1)

I'll take it, there're always a few break out players every year.

6:1 Jarome Iginla gets traded before Luongo does.

Leave it. Don't see the Flames shopping him nearly as much as the nucks will be with Lou, could be traded mid season/deadline but Lou will likely be shipped out asap.

A fan get's fed up with this lockout posturing, kills Bettman and Fehr, ends the lockout and is hailed as a hero (100:1)

Nazem Kadri makes the leafs out of training camp and sticks...finally.

Take it. No Wilson and if the trade rumours around him are true they'll want him to get icetime...

Keeping with the Leafs:

Phil Kessel scores 40 goals.

In his career? Sure. Next season? No. Next full season? I'll take it.

Two teams who made the Conference finals this past year miss the playoffs.

Leave it, I like the odds, but 5 years is too small a window imo.

5:1 - Olli Jokinen fights Jarome Iginla in their first game against eachother

lol, no. leaving it.

10:1 Since BizNasty has discovered some scoring ability in the EIHL, once his NHL contract runs out, Biz will sign a one-year contract with Cardiff or another EIHL team.

Leave it. He could get into a better league for that.

25:1 - RNH will have 100 assists in a season at some point of his career.

Leave it. Put up 75 assists in 69 games in the WHL. That rate projected over an 82 game schedule is only 89 assists.

20:1 - By the year 2020, the NHL combines the Winter Classic and the All-Star game into one event.

Take it at those odds and that timeline.

A player plays to the age of 45 within the next 10 years (13:1)

Take it easily.

A starting goaltender finishes a season with an above .950sv% within the next 7 years.

I can see Lundqvist, Quick or Rinne doing it. (Would be insane)

We will see music shows during the intermissions on playoffs games to entertain the crowd within the next 10 years. 8:1

As a league-mandated thing? Or as a general trend? I'm sure it's happened before in the past, though not often.

Assuming a universal adoption of a music show in every playoff game, leave it.

Bet: A hockey player will be on Saturday Night Live within the next 5 years (5:1)

Take it. I can see Sid, Ovechkin, or perhaps a member of the Rangers if they were to win the Cup.

40:1 an ECHL city (can be former or current) is granted the next NHL expansion team.

Note: former ECHL city may also include an ECHL city that now is home to an AHL team.

Pass. Only one I'd logically see is Charlotte, and that's only as temp housing for Carolina if something happens to their place in Raleigh. The argument could be made for Utah as well, but 30 is a nice round number that shouldn't be changed.

20:1 Kansas City sees an ECHL level or above team occupy Sprint Center by end of the decade.
