This team is seriously lacking fire-power upfront. Stortini, Boyce and Berger are all getting WAY too much time of ice. Geoffrion's injury is a big blow to this team. Hopefully Leblanc is coming back soon.
Everybody was saying they were goin to have a tough time in the AHL with so many rookies.
Well, with Geoffrion and Leblanc out, it is even worse....badly need some vets here!
Don't forget Pateryn. I thought he had a calming presence on the d-core. Never really seemed to panic.
We look awful out there. The PP is completely lost. There's absolutely 0 breakout. Don't think I've seen one nice tape to tape pass. Instead of a stortini or a boyce, this team needed a darche or a locke.
I know Corbin's story is nice and all but the guy keeps handling the puck like a grenade. Worst D for breakouts and lose many 1vs1 in the Dzone.
As much as it's easy to blame Beaulieu, 2 goals in the 2nd were a direct result of a bad read by a forward on the backcheck. The 3rd man is often caught looking at the puck instead of picking the guy out of the D's reach.
Speaking of the forwards, they'll need to win some battles on the forcheck because it's getting really easy for opposing teams to breakout versus the Dogs.
Yes, we can make an excuse by blaming that the team is actually composed of too many rookies. But imagine that if all those rookies perform well, Dogs would be a better team. Right now, rookies are playing like a regular rookies, nothing special. They are playing like many other rookies, really nothing stands out. No, I'm not predicting their future, here I simply state how bad they are right now.
In terms of relativity, Gallagher, Holland and Bournival are among the best Dogs; but compared to the League, I think they are barely average players.
