Tomorrow's game should be an interesting one. Monarchs play the Adirondack Phantoms (the Flyers affiliate) who are coached by Terry Murray. The Monarchs this year are using Sutter's system. So tomorrow it'll be Murray's system verses Sutter's system.
The game however will be starting at 7 am PST!! It's education day in Monarchs country and the all the schools are taking a field trip to see the Monarchs play. Welcome to the minor leagues!

I predict the boringest 65 minutes of hockey ever. Everyone involved is asleep by the end of overtime and just forgets about the shootout...
The Oilers Farm team, to no surprise, has been tearing up the score sheet, Justin Schultz, has 18 points in 11 games (and a +6 and 39 shots on goal), which for anybody, let alone a Defensemen, is outstanding. He, Eberle and Nugent-HOpkins have a combined total of 48 points in 11 games.
So does this mean Prokhorkin has to stay in the KHL for the remainder of his contract? That would suck, because I feel he was developing nicely in Manchester.

yes, until his KHL contract is valid, 30.4.2015. Of course he can terminate it earlier (with paying money to CSKA).

This is what is being speculated right now (PK paying out his contract).
The problem here is that the Kings had spoken with the NHL about this situation prior to signing PK and having him come to NA. We all thought that everything had been worked out and then here we go. Very frustrating is what I have heard.
PK's situation is still up in the air for the moment but as far as where he is supposed to play right now he will be waisting his talent time and life in the KHL where he like MK will be resigned to low minutes and mismanagement.
Yes, but it seemed to have been worked out before he Porks played a single game. I know that we believed that everything was settled but as always when dealing with the Russian Hockey Federation or the KHL it all comes down to greasing the right palms at the right time with the right amount or everything gets messy.
While this sucks, I think if everything goes well (which is doubtful), it could be a good thing. Obviously the ideal situation is for Porky to be in the A and play the NA game the way Voynov learned it. But would it really be that bad for him to play the rest of this year in the KHL? There's some pretty damn good competition over there right now and if he can get some actual ice time, it could be great for his development. Plus, doing so would allow more ice time in Manchester for the other forwards, and with Kinger now down there as well, that means theres even less ice time to dole out. On top of that, a year off his contract makes it cheaper for him to buy himself out. Just monitor him closely and if he's being mismanaged and not getting the ice time, get him out of the contract and back to the A.

As far as I know Prokhorkin is still with the Monarchs haven't heard anything different. I just think he wasn't in the line-up cause he was a healthy scratch. There is 17 forwards currently on the Monarchs roster. And nearly all of them or good enough to play every night.
Its like seeing the future of the Oilers right now....
It is! the team is stacked beyond believe with forwards but when it comes to defense and goaltending... Not as much going on there. That's not how you build a great team, ain't that right Dean?
Anyone have an update on Jordan Nolan? The first weekend of the season he broke his finger in a fight with Bobby Robins and he's been out since. Early last week he was practicing in a no-contact jersey...

Sad thing really.
While Kitsyn should be playing in NA because his style of game isn't suited for the KHL, prokhorkin on the other hand can progress well there.
Don't act like he wasn't scratched a few times this year already. I'm sure that is very good for his development.

If the bolded is true then why can't Kitsyn go that route as well? I was under the impression that the lack of transfer agreements between the NHL and KHL and their essential inablility to see eye to eye on any issue at all was the reason for Kitsyn being stuck there (and now possibly Porkins as well?)
Monarchs lose 4-1. Played a solid 2 periods but then got their ***** completely handed to them in the 3rd! Kozun scored the lone goal and Brian O'niell played a solid game. He was the only one though. Schenn with that hat trick for the Phantoms

I also liked what I saw from O'neill today. He's decent defensively and surprisingly physical for a little guy. He plays that typical NCAA well rounded style of hockey.
I keep watching these highlights and seeing a D-man for the Monarchs throwing the cold shoulder and big hits every game...is that Bodnarchuk? This dude is a stud. Seems like I can only make out that the name plate on the back is long so I figure it's Deslauries or Bodarchuk.
