Not sure how wise of a move this would be, and i'm sure its overzealous since its being suggested almost immediately after Beach started playing well but nonetheless...
What would the value be if the Hawks packaged together 3-4 of these prospects + 2013 1st rounder
Morin
Beach
Jimmy Hayes
and ONE of McNeil/Saad/Tuevo
It seems like the Hawks have almost too many good prospects and not enough roster spots for them. Again, i know this is overzealous but with Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, and Bolland being long term parts of the core, that leaves little room for more than two of these guys to step in. Especially if 2 of 3 of Saad/McNeil/Tuevo become as good as projected, i dont see where the rest will fit.
I really don't understand why anyone would give anything of significant value for that package unless they were about to lose said player or the player needed a change of scenery.
Maybe a decent #2 center in terms of pure value. But we're talking one good prospect, a #20-ish overall pick and a decent prospect that most teams already have prospects that would be ahead of them on the depth charts.
I'm not sure I'd want to offer much more than that for 3 months of Getzlaf. Having the rights to Hayes and Saad for the next 3 years is more practical, considering the Hawks line-up.
That's not a bad return if 1) Anaheim and Getzlaf knew they were parting ways and 2) the Hawks had no interest to re-sign him after this season... which is what I'd assume would realistically need to happen for this trade.

Yeah, but other teams are going to give up more enticing packages even for a couple months of Getzlaf believing they can get him signed. Toronto for example who needs a bonafide #1 center could offer up a package more impressive than a good prospect and a very low first, which I believe Chicago will have if a season is played.

Since when is around 15th overall a very low first? We see this whenever the Hawks' 1st is discussed and every draft the pick is in the middle of the 1st round.

Well we have that perfect 2nd line center. A very good one at that.
Pleks for Saad, one of Morin/Beach/Jimmy Hayes and your 2013 1st rd pick.
We decide on which of Morin/Beach/Jimmy Hayes we are going to take.
Plekanec to Chicago has been discussed ad nauseum on HF Boards. While I, and most other Hawks fans, would love Plekanec (especially for that package) i doubt the Habs would do it.
That's the kind of deal that probably get someone like Getzlaf or Perry at the deadline as a rental.
I agree it's the kind of deal we'd see offered, but I doubt it's the one that would actually get you one of them. Anaheim would probably want less overall quantity, and more top end quality.
It was only a matter of time before Pleks got thrown into this. That deal has been talked about once a week. It's Pleks and one of our later 2nds for Saad, TT, and 2013 first (pick would be a 25-30). As a Montreal fan id do it

Hawks can keep TT.
