They aren't going to draft an Urlacher replacement while he's still here. Only way they take a MLB in the draft is if Urlacher goes down again this year and he looks done. I think he still has 2 if not 3 years on this team.

There is no lock that he will still be here. UFA after this year... If he is our MLB for the next 2-3 years, we might be in some trouble. He has been pretty invisible all year, IMO.

He will get extended unless the defense falls apart over the next 7 games. Guaranteed.

Good game to bet on because without the starting QBs, it's a total toss up and our backup should be better.

I definitely like our defense's chances against a rookie QB that is primarily a running QB. Going to be a field position/turnover battle. Niners haven't ruled out Alex Smith yet but that was a hell of a hit he took to be back 8 days later.

Didn't realize Smith has a 70.4% completion percentage this year. Really hope he is out.

If he's out, I can't see the Bears giving up over 14 points to the 49ers unless they turn the ball over 2+ times.

He's not going to play. There's a lot of games left, no reason to rush him back with his concussion history. Get him ready for Minnesota.

This.

Plus if Smith can't go for San Francisco (and I doubt he will be able to), it is a winnable game with Campbell at the helm after a week's worth of snaps with the first team offense.

The drop from Smith to Kapernick is much more precipitous than Cutler to Campbell

I heard on the radio San Francisco thinks Smith will be good to go. He just has to pass his tests. I'm sorry, but whether he passes them or not, putting him out there against the Bears D of all teams after the hit he took is really irresponsible. The worst part is they likely won't face Cutler so why not just give him the week off and make it a battle of the backups?

Well exactly, he has to pass his tests just like Cutler does.

Yeah, but like hockey, and probably even moreso, a lot of these guys bomb the baseline to make the decision ultimately up them if an injury occurs. Hey, put him in, he'll be hearing those footsteps all game and will likely rush something. I don't want to see him carted off in a body bag though, hope they know what they are doing.

I agree, no need to rush, but I don't want to hear it was a "serious" concussion or something like that.

According to some Twitter reports, Big Ben has a rib injury that's actually life-threatening if he played without letting it heal. Supposedly ridiculously rare, too.

The steelers just have awful luck with Ben. Need to start looking around for another QB, if things continue to go down hill for him.

Yikes, that's some scary stuff about Ben...

Remember that punk TE Jerramy Stevens? Somehow he bagged Hope Solo 2 months ago, and apparently they were to get married in a day or two... but he was tossed in jail after a phsyical altercation.

How the hell does that guy pick up a chick like that?

Hope Solo is obviously a very disturbed and deranged person. I wouldn't bang her with Antonio Cromartie's dick.

Bears-49ers game will be fun. Two backup QBs with two great run defenses against teams that are going to be hoping to run a lot. It won't be pretty or high scoring but I think it'll be an awesome hard-fought game. It's going to come down to turnovers so the Bears gotta protect the ball and keep forcing turnovers as they've done all year.

I don't think the Bears will be nearly as conservative as some people think. Jason Campbell isnt' Caleb Hanie....he has over 70 starts in the NFL.
