Triple H is apparently among many that are hoping that Sting might pass on renewing with TNA when his contract expires at the end of the year.
According to a source, WWE would like to present Sting with a multi-faceted licensing deal which would include incorporating him into their Mattel deal and home videos. It would also likely include an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Signing Sting to a deal is apparently not a high priority for Vince McMahon, whereas Triple H is said to hold Sting in high regard.

It may be 2012 and 2013 in a little more than a month, but seeing Sting/Taker at WrestleMania would be something.

I know Sting Vs Taker is a match a lot of people want to see but I do not think signing Sting just so he can lose at WM is a good idea. Unless the buildup is done right and have Taker fight Sting a few times before at RR and EC and have Sting win making it look like Sting might be the one guy to have Takers number. Then his loss at WM might be better then just having a one off match at WM that he loses.
Basically they need to give Sting some insentive to join other that an action figure and a DVD set and the WWE hall of fame if he is only going to be signed to job to taker. out of those 3 things the DVD set would probably be the most lucrative to Sting as he already has action figures and the WWE fame really does not mean much as he has never really been a WWE employee.

I agree.
Even though Sting and Undertaker are near the end of their careers, a match between them can't be worse than Hart vs McMahnon a few years ago.
I truly believe that everyone saying "Wouldn't be interested in a Sting/Taker WM Match" is just talking horsesh**t...
These guys given the proper buildup, which would involve Taker wrestling at RR, EC and even SS, would deliver a fantastic program.
We all know that Taker would win WM, which is why as someone has already stated, would require matches at RR, EC and a pay-off at SS.
That way Sting isn't just brought in to immediately do a job.
Sting in the WWE would be pretty nice, and we could actually get a nice career retrospective from WWE, since they own the WCW library, it would be a killer set.
Everyone's free to like/dislike whomever they want.
But I'm seeing people here say those things when they were singing a very different tune during the 2/21/11 buildup promos. Everyone and their dogs thought that it was Sting at first (and rumors were that it was very close to being him).
People were saying that a Sting/Taker feud would be great...and it would.
Sting, while he is getting up there in age, still looks good for the age he's at, and can still hold his own in the ring, given the right opponent.
They're both 83 years old, but I was a big WCW fan when I was a kid, so a Sting v Undertaker match would be lots of fun for me. I don't think Sting should lose it either. A draw, if done well in a 20+ minute match could be pretty damn entertaining.

LOL. Good luck getting either guy to stay healthy for that program.
You can't give away the match before WrestleMania. This would be a strictly WrestleMania special spectacle. Nothing more. 15 minutes with a great story. If you offer Sting enough money, plus other licensing things, and let him keep the name "Sting" if he decides to leave WWE afterwards, it should be OK.
