Will Cahill return to NY ?
Cahill signed a multi-year deal so he'll be back.

I could've sworn he signed a 2 1/2 year deal (which means his contract would expire after 2013. I guess I was wrong.

So basically a 1 1/2 year deal since he came to the Galaxy in midseason.

It's almost impossible to find out the annual salary of players in Europe. What they have there is weekly wages.

What was his weekly wage in Europe ?

If some clubs have a wage budget of 5M per week then that's like 210M per year ??

That's ridiculous...

You mean the one in Australia? I highly doubt it.

"Moving to the A-League would have been a step backwards and that's no disrespect," he said.
"I want to still play at a high level. There's still another World Cup for me to play in and to qualify for with the Australian team. This is a massive opportunity.
"I didn't speak to any A-League (clubs) and it was never in my plans ... I'm more interested in the grassroots level of football in Australia, not playing there."

<snip>

Cahill said he'd informed [Australian manager] Osieck of his intention to move to the United States but that he wouldn't have changed his mind if the German said the move would affect his hopes of making Australia's 2014 World Cup squad.
I'm not sure A-League clubs would even want to talk to him after he slapped them all in the face like that.

I'd imagine the money and caliber is better in MLS...

I'd disagree. Not to mention the money on the top end favors MLS easily.

And DC is basically done....still can't figure out why teams constantly try to beat Houston in the air....makes no sense.

Money? In Australian soccer?

The A-League is about ten years behind MLS. Its progress has stalled and attendance is still problematic. Del Piero going to Sydney could be the big break they need to get the league moving in the right direction.

Things couldn't have turned out any more perfectly in the east. Houston was the only team La would be able to host the final against. Now to hold on to a 3 goal lead.

I would have rooted for DC today if they weren't going to host MLS cup if they won. The team is fine. RFK is a dump.

I'm not really fond of Seattle's players. But I love their fans. Would welcome them hosting the MLS cup.

I like LA's players. Not fond of their blase mediocre fans. But i know Home Depot center will be full for the final. so I'm OK with LA hosting the Cup also.

As for Seattle LA game, It was a tough break on the offsides call. But i was pretty sure Montero got away using his elbow to play the ball 5 seconds earlier. Also, it's easy to freeze frame a graphic and show the perfect point when the ball was played and the players`runs. The human eye isn't that efficient.
