I don't know, with everything seen on Primetime, I expect GSP to come out unlike his previous couple bouts and try to finish Condit.
I hope so, I just think there is so much riding on this fight for GSP that he wont want to take any risks. Not too mention that Condit is probably his biggest threat in years.
Main Card:
Welterweight Championship Bout: Georges St. Pierre (c) vs Carlos Condit
Welterweight Bout: Martin Kampmann vs Johny Hendricks
Middleweight Bout: Francis Carmont vs Tom Lawlor
Middleweight Bout: Nick Ring vs Costa Philippou
Featherweight Bout: Mark Hominick vs Pablo Garza
Preliminary Card:
Middleweight Bout: Patrick Cote vs Alessio Sakara
Light Heavyweight Bout: Cyrille Diabate vs Chad Griggs
Lightweight Bout: Mark Bocek vs Rafael dos Anjos
Lightweight Bout: Sam Stout vs John Makdessi
Featherweight Bout: Antonio Carvalho vs Rodrigo Damm
Welterweight Bout: Matt Riddle vs John Maguire
Bantamweight Bout: Ivan Menjivar vs Azamat Gashimov
Featherweight Bout: Steven Siler vs Darren Elkins
Condit's only shot is landing something huge or catching GSP with a sub off his back. He knows he has to come out and go for broke or he will be GSP'd for 5 rounds.

Guessing I won't have much trouble finding a not too expensive scalper ticket.
Oh, and co-sign on seeing an event in Vegas. Was there for the last Superbowl weekend. Had the cheapest seats, but never really had to depend on big screens to figure out what was happening.
Plus you're in Vegas. . If the fights are less than stellar, the card is over by 10pm, and there is just a little bit of other. stuff going on.
Cote/Sakara seems to be in the ideal spot, having 2 guys who more than likely will stand and slug it out may lead to more people buying the PPV.
Stout should be on the main card but this fight is such an odd matchup, as far as him facing Makdessi that maybe that is the reason. If they were matching 2 canucks i think he and Bocek would have made a more relevant fight.

I think they want to get Stout a win, and Makdessi is about as easy a matchup as there is for him.Bocek is a much tougher draw.

The last GSP fight I actually liked was probably the BJ Penn fight which was almost 4 years ago. He's a lot better now but nowhere close to being as exciting/entertaining. I don't think we'll ever see the old GSP but he has had a lot of time off so maybe he'll come out and try to be a bit more exciting now. Would love to see a finish.

I'm very tempted to put some cash down on Condit given the betting lines, but I can't picture Condit getting the better of GSP over a 5 round fight, even with the long layoff. I don't see Condit finishing GSP and I don't see him being able to employ the same strategy he did against Diaz over 5 rounds against GSP. I think his best shot is to eek out a close decision win, but I think he'd have to really dominate the fight to get that nod. Should be interesting nonetheless.
The site I use doesn't let you bet on how the fight will end but I wonder what the odds are for a GSP finish. Given his long layoff and inability to finish fights recently, the likelihood of a finish might be low but you might be able to get good odds because of that. That's the one bet I would make.
I think you're just giving money away if you bet on Condit in this fight and betting on GSP to win straight up won't win you much.

I use bodog and a GSP finish pays out at +275 right now. Decent compared to a GSP win at -350. Interestingly they have a decision win by GSP being -150, those are pretty decent odds.

That makes a lot of sense, he is a pretty good company man. This match-up also gives him the opportunity to work on his much improved TDs and top control. The Bocek fight would be more interesting (maybe next) but, like you said, that is a tough fight. I'm pretty high on Bocek, I think he'd dominate him for 3 rounds, maybe throw a few Randy Couture spanks down while doing so...
