For all those guys saying that Hemsky has no value you don't know anything about hockey; he is a legit top 6 winger and has played 21 straight games. He would help any team in the top 6 position. A team like NAS, PHX, NYI, and TO just to name a few would improve their team.
Wow! 21 whole games in a row! That's a pretty big accomplishment for Hemsky, I suppose.
Hemsky will be with the oilers for a while because the value that the oilers and fans think hes worth is not near what other teams will take a gamble on. Add to that the notion of playoff hockey when the ref puts the whistle away and hemsky will be an oiler for a while.
Hemsky could score 100 points next season, and he would still have negative value according to HF.
He'd have to stay healthy enough to play that many games in a season to hit 100 points - that's the problem most people are saying. It's not like he's a cheap cap hit either.
Seems like his problem aren't so much that he's made of glass but rather he appears to put himself into situations where he gets hurt. At least that's my take on it.

Heh, interesting. I think either Hemsky or Lupul would make a good centrepiece for a Luongo trade.
That said, middling D prospects and 2nd rounders aren't exactly an area of weakness for the Oilers.
Dude, you need to open your eyes. The Vancouver Canucks will not be getting either Ales Hemsky or Joffrey Lupul. Roberto Luongo is signed to an albatross contract and the Canucks are not in the ideal situation to be dealing him with Corey Schneider under contract approaching his prime. The rest of the league knows Luongo wants out and that Vancouver isn't going to dedicate ~10M towards 2 goalies, so why can't Canucks fan just accept this? Oh and to clarify you won't be getting Hemsky, simply because Vancouver won't be dealing with a division rival and helping to fill two of Edmonton's most glaring needs: veteran experience and a big solid goaltender. Toronto will give some second tier assets for Luongo to take the contract off Vancouver's hands to fill an area of need.
Brian Campbell didn't garner any value for Chicago in his trade to Florida at age 32 and he's probably the closest comparable to Roberto Luongo.

With DiPietro's nagging injuries and $4.5m per salary, I'd hope Snow would not be in the mix for the oft injured Hemksy at $5m+ .

Chicago should have kept Campbell. They made their team worse by getting rid of him and they got knocked out in the 1st round.
In the same line of thinking, the Canucks should just hold on to Luongo to ensure that Schneider actually is capable of being a top 3 starter in the NHL. All Schneider has won right now is a chance to be a starter, not a guarantee that he will be a starter forever.

How hard is it for people to realize that?
Cap dumps are a difficult thing to gauge. The Campbell trade was bad for the Hawks, but the Sharks managed to dump Heatley's contract while getting a top-6 player in return. It all depends.

Hemsky is playing in the Czech Republic League he has played 16 games with 11 goals and 10 assist for 21 points. He is finally healthy after he had his surgery. He is a legit top 6 winger on any team.
To a team that is looking for a top 6 winger with skill what would you offer for him?
He could be put in a package deal for a big block buster but obviously the FAB 5 are not moving but other prospects and Gagner could be added.
His value in the NHL has little to do with what he does in another league. That really only occurs with young players pre-NHL. Hemsky has 9 years of NHL experience. That's what will determine his worth.
