I don't see any reason to be happy about this. Maynard has been involved in two FOTY contenders recently, and I think he did his part to make the Guida fight fun.
What's Hunt's status? He doesn't strike me as a guy who's always in fighting shape, but that'd be an interesting fight.
I thought I read somewhere that he was still injured, not sure though. I would imagine if he was healthy he would've had a fight lined up for that Australian card.
Edit: Ariel Helwani tweeted that Hunt isn't ready to return.

Word is it might be Mike Kyle.
Brutal. Would rather just see them bump up Pat Barry. I have a feeling it could be Matt Mitrione, although they offered him the fight against Cormier and he turned it down and Dana wasn't too happy about it.

I don't understand why they just don't tap Daniel Cormier. Would be a main event level fight after the Mir fight get dumped, and he should still be in relatively good shape.

He's contracted to Showtime, it's not a possibility.
What about Josh Barnett? Or is he going to be on the Strikeforce super-card too?

Can't say I blame Mitrione at all for turning down a Strikeforce fight.

It would've been by far his biggest fight and probably the biggest fight he'll ever be offered. I can understand him turning down the fight as he likely would've got throttled, but just because it's Strikeforce doesn't mean it would've been a bad situation for him. He's making $10,000 to show in the UFC, he would've made far more than that headlining a Strikeforce card against Cormier. The guy's 34 years old, it's not as if he's got his whole career ahead of him to build himself up.
