Hanowski was able to attend both games this weekend against UND with no ill effects and it sounds like he may start skating soon. If he progresses well, he could be back next weekend against UMD but I would guess early Dec. is the more likely target date.

Right on. I figured with our luck, he'd be gone long-term.

Thanks for the info and relatively good news. If he can come back and continue his strong play from last year, there's a good shot for him to get into some AHL games at the end of the year. The one thing the Pens' AHL club is lacking is forwards with any type of offensive skills.

Zlobin keeps his streak going with a goal and assist tonight. 27 pts during his 15 game point streak.

Off-topic, but watching the Subway Super Series tonight...Morgan Reilly is dynamic as hell. He's gonna be some kind of player.

If Pouliot looks that good tomorrow, I'll take back everything I said about the pick, haha.

That's pretty much what I was saying in the other thread. Rielly looks like he could be a mix between Letang & Keith. He has unbelievable recovery speed, can lead or join the attack with skill, can make great plays & passes, and control the game from the back end. Plus he has a bigger frame and even better skater than Pouliot, and fantastic compete level.

That's why I was saying I think Rielly or Lindholm could be two guys taken just ahead of #8 who may be at another level, but that it may have cost way too much to move up two or three spots, and that TOR and ANA may not have been willing to move.

Agree with both of you. Reilly is one smooth and slick player.
Not very impressed with G Reinhart tho. For a big guy he sure doesn't utilize his size. He didn't play bad but definitely didn't do anything to make me think the opposite.

Interested to see what anyone who watched tonight's game thought of Dumba. Hits like a truck but takes himself out if position in the process. Pretty good skater and joins the play but occasionally made some suspect decisions with the puck

Looking forward to seeing Pouliot play with and against some of the best of his peers tonight.

Kind of weird first shift there for Pouliot, kind of like his partner was completely missing.

Sucks there was a whistle there cause Pouliot had a clear lane.

DP and Rielly on point for PP.

I've been impressed by Nichushkin in this series. He looks like a kid that brings a little of everything... size, wheels, decent skills and likes to initiate contact and play in traffic. He's 2013 eligible.. might keep an eye on him.

Miscues of positional assignments by DPs teammates has hurt his +\- stat

So far DP has been exactly what I expected/wanted. He's not soft, but he's unable to play the physical game he's trying to play in this game. That will come when he matures and gets stronger. I think GoGo and Brian Campbell comparisons are reasonable to think at this point.

Like I said, people have no reason to be upset with this pick. Then again most of the people on this board who are also resent tangradi and think bennett is a scrub prospect sooo ...

Canada's just a mess. DP made a few mistakes but I don't see an overly flawed game. He needs to get stronger but he does compete well and does get involved.

I like how he gets to loose pucks and then has the poise to make a play. I also like how he goes tape to tape on long passes.

One player that I've always liked and has really impressed me in this series is Khokhlachev. That kid plays an active game with no fear and has some skill to boot.

That is why +/- is such a flawed stat. Were any of those goals Pouliots fault? No, but he is the one that is hurting in that stat. You can't blame the D for the forwards not being in position.

Pretty sure the third goal was at least partly his fault. You can't turn the puck over in your own zone that blatantly.

Tangradi has 2 PPG so far today, and Bennett with the assist on the 2nd one. Ferriero has 2 assists so far, and it's still only the 1st period

Just for future reference, we do have a thread for WBS if you want to be a part of the discussion in there.

Sean Maguire gets his first win, stopping 29 of 31 vs Vermont.
