Rumor has it Ellis broke his wrist during a scrimmage early last week. He was seen skating off the ice holding his wrist after colliding with McGratten. It is said to be two bones in his his wrist and supposedly he had surgery on Friday. Looking at 6-8 weeks out.
Don't see any official announcement, but someone else had mentioned a potential wrist injury to Ellis earlier. Maybe a couple of days ago. I guess we'll see.

He can't go to the team for treatment so an official announcement is a bit difficult during the lockout.

last time, the system was broken... it was worth losing a year to get things straightened out.
Its not broken now, it just needs adjusting. I almost think both sides arent going to mind missing a month or two but to lose a whole year would mean there will be players who will have lost 2 years of their careers... I think if nothing is done by november or december at the latest the players will start to put pressure on Fehr to get it done...

Did you see NMF? The wrong team won the game. It is the same situation! The NFL owners don't want to pay the real officials the money they deserve. They are arguing over pensions. The entire country saw a Packer intercept the ball but the moron replacement official signals touchdown Seattle. The play gets reviewed but not overturned! The other official, standing 5 feet from the idiot, had signalled touchback (interception) at the same time. They need the real refs back, not guys from the Lingerie League.
We need the NHL players back. It is just a few issues. No more 15 year contracts. Limit the size of a bonus. Split revenue 50-50. How hard is that?

I would think given the lockout that they will be taking things nice and slow with his return.

I have heard that Ellis is skating around in practice to maintain his condition. Milwaukee still has 7 healthy d-men, so like PredsV82 said, they can take their time. The next home game is Friday Nov 30 against Chicago, followed by Dec 5 against Texas. I would think that Ellis should be healed for December 5, that is 3 weeks from today and 5 weeks from when I saw him with the cast. According to BigFatCat999's timeline, this is week 8.
