Sodertalje and Cam Fowler are close, but nothing is done yet explains the team's GM. But if a deal gets done, Nicklas Grossmann will also become one of his teammates. Sodertalje announced the signing of Grossmann today.
If the SEL doesn't start to let in NHL'ers soon, the two teams who ends up in the qualification round could get in trouble trying to avoid demotion to Allsvenskan. That's of course if Sodertalje, Djugarden, Vasteras etc still have NHL'ers at that point. But unfortunately it's sure starting to look that way.
Grossmann is also a Flyer. So maybe we can add him to the trade too. Add Palmieri from our side, perhaps.
Trying out the new Android swype function of 4.2. I think I kind of like real Swype a little better, but that stupid thing doesn't seem to work in 4.1 or 4.2. It can't tell the difference between a browser text field and the nav bar. Bah. They're all flawed.
Allsvenskan is better than you think... There's five teams down there that have been in the SEL the past seven years. His team, Sodertalje, are a strong candidate to advance to the SEL, and could very well beat Norfolk in a best of seven series. There's a fair share of former NHL'ers and AHL'ers, and plenty of former SEL players in the league. And unlike in North America, they aren't all there because they aren't good enough for the SEL.
You can just look at Djurgarden... They were in the SEL last year, and now they are struggeling in Allsvenskan (their coach just stepped down). Players on the team: Gabriel Landeskog (9 points in 11 games), Michael Holmqvist (6 points in 20 games), Jimmie Olvestad (6 points in 19 games), Douglas Murray (2 points in 11 games), Patric Hornqvist (1 point in 2 games). All current or former NHL'ers. Fowler should produce good numbers, especially with Read and Hagelin going so well... But if he doesn't 'tear it up', you shouldn't be dissapointed.
I don't think anyone is trying to take anything away from the league. I'd expect Fowler to tear up the AHL too, especially if he had some players to play with. In this context, "tearing it up" is really just showing that he's probably too good for the league.
Ok, I hear you. I think the league will fit him really well though, from what I've seen of him on the bigger ice surface. There's some nice talent there now too during the lockout, with the SEL not bringing in any NHL'ers (execpt for a couple of teams who ignored the agreement not to do so). He'll be in a winning enviroment too. Sodertalje has a long history of playing in the SEL, they've been up and down between the leagues a couple of times the last seven years.

I'm kind of hoping that he takes this as an opportunity to maybe be a bit more aggressive offensively. He's a talented kid, but there are times I just think he could be more assertive, and even take control at times. I guess a way of putting it is I want him to be hungrier offensively.
Didnt he already say he would not go to Europe to take another guys job?
I'm really exalted. I'm a Morafan and it seems to be close to a deal. There were just recently an article in a local newspaper stating "We've had a mutual agreement, the money are all there and the only thing we need now is his signature on the contract".

Interesting because I thought he was pretty adamant about not going to Europe. I think there were even some articles/blogs here about how he was a "union guy" and an example.
Bobby would have to eat some crow if he went over.
I'm just glad he's playing hockey again, and on a team where he should get plenty of responsibility. A 20 year old should be playing. This is too important a time in his development.
