Saw him for the first time as an underager at the U18s...got the same feeling I got when I first watched Karlsson. Doubt he gets to that level, that fast, but he's probably going to be a star.

WHL's goalie looks like a beaut.

But really, the Leafs fans that will claim Rielly is to be better than Karlsson is gonna be fun to watch. I can see it now, "he'll be as good as Karlsson offensively, but better defensively".

It's pretty easy to see that rielly is a special player and as a sens fan you can't argue it. But to say he'll be better than karlsson doesn't make much sense especially considering what karlsson did last year. It'll be fun watching a Ottawa toronto game with those two matching up.
I doubt it will ever get to the point where i'd take rielly over karlsson.

Yeah don't think he'll be at that level, but whenever the leafs get a player I think can help them it makes me

You'll see Leaf fans think it though.

Islanders should have taken him instead of Reinhart imo. Rielly QBing a PP with Tavares and El Nino on it would have been filthy.

But I've said since they drafted him that he will be their Karlsson. Maybe never as good, but he wont be far off.

Yeah exactly. We'll be told for whatever reason Leaf fans wouldn't trade Rielly for Karlsson though.

And we'll tell them we'd never trade Karlsson for Rielly if Rielly ever becomes better then EK lol. Its a part of the rivalry. Just look at the Habs fans who think Subban is better then King K lol. I enjoy those debates honestly, as an unbiased hockey fan its really funny to see who's completely blinded by the love of their team.

yeah and you're right it will be fun to watch them defend their guy even when it becomes obvious (or more obvious) that's he's not on the same level. But ok, i'll keep my mouth shut until he gets a chance. Fair is fair. We'll know in 4 years

El Nino? Is it the guy that had 1 goal and NO assist in 55 games last year and was also -29???

That's Brian McGrattan territory, except that Nino had much better opportunity and linemates

Its already starting on the leafs board.

Nino played on the 3rd and 4th line on the Islanders. He was playing with Brian McGrattan skilled players. He was too good for the WHL, not good enough for the NHL. He was in hockey limbo. Now that he's old enough to play in the A he has 13pts in 11 games this year. Kid is still gonna be amazing.
