Gomez's weekly salary (52 weeks) was 145 000$ last year...

as our 3rd line next season (barring there is one of course...). Gomez would have a much more modest role playing with 2 shoot-first players and who can do the dirty work needed. It turned out to be EXCEPTIONNAL mangement by Bergeving to not panick and by him out last summer when everybody was calling for his head. Now we get 2 years less to pay a 66% salaray + a possible rollback or even better, a special clause that could reduce a buy-out.
exactly what I had think. You can also see that way :
both Bourque and Gomez become swapable so are Armstrong Moen

so here the 3 others possibilities:

2
Bourque Eller Moen
Gomez Prust Armstrong

3
Bourque Eller Armstrong
Gomez Prust Moen

4
Gomez Eller Moen
Bourque Prust Armstrong

to me if thing go well this can turn out to be a real bottom 6 specialists
Nokelainen and White if their is some injuries ...
Play 4 lines to give breath to the top6 and give less minute to Plekanec to keep him stable till the end of the year. Knowing that the year can be shorter thing can pan out and we can have a big surprise ... the only questionable spot is now WHO the ffff will be playing next to Gionta Plekanec : Galchenyuk Palushaj Leblanc Gallagher or someone else !??

this can become pretty amazing when you look to the whole roster possiblity if Galchenyuk is effectivly ready :

Cole Desharnais Pacioretty
Galchenyuk Plekanec Gionta
Armstrong Eller Gomez
Moen Prust Bourque

Markov Bouillon
Subban Gorges
Emelin Kaberle

PP1 -

Gomez Plekanec Gionta
Markov Galchenyuk

PP2-
Cole Desharnais Pacioretty
Kaberle Subban

Pk1 -

Plekanec Moen
Subban Gorges

Pk2

Eller Prust
Markov Emelin

You also use a little bit less Subban Gorges Markov Emelin Bouillon and Kaberle wich give them more fuel at the end of the game.

Thing are to be said Jacques Martin / Pierre Gauthier never think about the possibility to win with a rough and even line up !!!

Things starting to be even and this stop problematic of using someone too much. Also to mention this Help Eller to concentrate on a lesser role to bloom out (and still be a center), set Leblanc Palushaj Gallagher and Geoffrion to play a full year or more in AHL and be ready next years to come! Is Galchenyuk Eller Gallagher the next Cammalleri Plekanec Gionta ??

if so is

Cole Desharnais Pacioretty
Galchenyuk Eller Gallagher
Moen Leblanc Bourque
Armstrong Prust Geoffrion (or White)

Markov St-Denis
Subban Gorges
Emelin Tinordi
Diaz Beaulieu

A near Idea from what Bergevin / Therrien hope to have as their team in 2014-15???
if yes : Kaberle Plekanec Palushaj are trade asset in the system !?

I see Gomez wants to challenge himself by playing in the ECHL. How long till he scores a goal? Will he be able to before the lockout ends?

I'd say he scores at a similar pace to the how he did in the NHL

considering he will be on the team next season barring some amnesty buy-out, it's in the team's best interest that Gomez gains some confidence and gets back to form. I wouldn't mind the 09-10 Gomez. He would still be vastly overpaid, but at least he'd be contributing to the team which he has seldom done the last 2 seasons.

The lock-out have been going on for so long people even forgot Gomez totally sucks.

Please bury him in the minor when season start (if new CBA allow it).

I Thought Gomez in the ECHL was a joke

Wow. This is actually kinda sad. I don't even know how he's eligible.

1g and 1a against Colorado. If he goes under a 2 PPG average then he needs to be bought out with no questions asked.

I have to admit a soft spot for Pyles so to be honest I actually think this 'could' help him. I'd be happy as hell if we found a way to be rid of him but I still welcome the idea of giving him a time sensitive 5th chance.

I'd rather him put together a season decent enough where we could possibly get something for him, no matter how menial.

He played in the ECHL in the last lockout too. This doesn't have to do with his calibre as a player.

Brandon Dubinsky has 12 points in 12 games on the same team.. I don't think going 2 PPG is that easy.

Yeah, I see Nate Thompson has just 1 G in 13 games... whether it's ECHL or even some of the European leagues some of these NHL players are going to, it really shows there are a lot of good hockey players in the world, and how fine the line is between those masses and the NHL.

People also underestimate how going from playing with NHLers to playing with ECHLers can impact your game. It's not just that you're playing with worse players, it's that you're not used to playing with worse players...or against them for that matter.

I remember when Sean Burke went to the AHL at the end of his career, he said he actually found it much harder to adjust to compared to playing in the NHL. Due to the lack of a high skill level, players were more prone to shoot from anywhere, or to crash the net, and the fluid systems from opposing teams that he got used to in the NHL were nowhere to be seen. I always found that interesting.

Can't also forget the fact that you're not necessarily playing to rack up all the points, your foot may not be on the pedal all the way. You might use that time to refine certain things. Gomez should be working on his defensive aspect if he's serious about a NHL spot. He only has one more year left on his contract after this year, if he gets to play it with us, chances he has a position on the two first lines are slim to none. So, better sharpen up those shutdown skills.
If I were him, I'd tell the coach to use me as a checking center.

I bet ya he will be working hard on his "enter the blue line, brake, turnover" move. It will be damn near perfect once he resume play with us

Last lockout he played for same team and was 1.41 PPG. He came back to the NHL with a career year.

I believe Gomez will give us scoring depth on our bottom 6. Guys like Prust, Armstrong, Moen and White will love playing with him because he can make a pass. We're not signing any big UFAs this year, we might as well keep him until we have the opportunity to trade for a disgruntled star or if we sign a big UFA next year.
