ISS November rankings for 2013

Every second Saturday we have ISS head scout Ross MacLean on the show where he profiles five guys in the Class of 2013.

We just received the November rankings from ISS. Check it out here

Mooseheads have the top ranked centre, winger, and goaltender for the draft....

Has that ever happened before?

Any reason why Erne is hovering as low as he is? He seems to have a very pro-friendly game with upside.

Mantha, Carrier and Domi not in the Top 30?
Also Lindholm at 10, Pulock at 15 and Erne at 18 are all surprisingly low

Nichushkin should be higher, like at no. 4 ahead of Drouin.

Lindholm at 10? Yow. I'm sure they've seen more of him than I have, but I've been very impressed by him. Would take him over a bunch listed in the 3-9 spots.

No way Pulock should be 15

Man, I hope Lindholm at 10 is accurate.

Dickinson at 14 is the biggest surprise for me.

Can anyone enlighten me on Steve Santini? This guy seems to be in the top 20 in everyone's list all of a sudden..

Big, physical, aggresive, strong skater, moves the puck with a good first pass but is not a puck rusher per say, likes to play the body and is strong defensively, has been one of two impressive NTDP defenders this season along with Keaton Thompson. Think Adam Foote type NHLer.

Not sure what Pulock has done since October that would cause him to fall from 13-15. If anything, I was sure he'd be a riser?

I continue to like Morrissey a lot more than ISS apparently. While he's slowed down in the last 2 weeks, I would still put him confidently as a mid round pick. They don't seem to like him above 20.

I don't see Nurse as a top 10 pick and definitely don't see him as better than Pulock.

They also don't seem to be be scared off by Lazar's less than stellar November so far either. 6 is high for him in my opinion.

Just goes to show how crazy the top 10 of this draft is. There's probably 20 different players I've seen listed in the top 10 of credible publications so far.

Only guarantees so far I'd say are MacKinnon, Jones, Barkov, Monahan, Drouin. The order/remainder of the top 10 is a crapshoot.

Only 4 d-men in the top-15; a big change from last drafts 9 (including 8 in the top 10).

Probably because he's really upped his game. I remember going to the first US game this year on the look out for Fasching, Compher and Will Butcher. I kept seeing this big guy doing stuff on the back end and I had to keep looking down at my sheet, who is this guy. Oh Santini, okay. Oh who is that guy doing that? Oh Santini again. Hey who is that guy? Santini again....

I think you get my point.

Where is Domi? Thats a huge surprise for me because he has been fantastic this year. I also think Pulock should be much higher. One of my favourite players in the draft.

I think perhaps these 5 may be forming the first tier of the draft?

All in my opinion obviously -
(More suitable)

Too high: Drouin(6-9), Lazar(10-12), Nurse(16-19), Dickinson (22-25)

Too low: Lindholm (4-6), Nichushkin(6-9), Pulock(8-12), Erne(10 - 15)

On a side note, I like the decision to keep Domi out of the first 30. I don't think he'll transition well into the show personally, wouldn't pick him up with anything more than a second.

Is Monahan really that good or is he just an early developer (a la Jordan Staal)?

Not answering your question, but I'd take a Jordan Staal type player any day at 5th overall. Kinda sounds like your putting him down as a player here.

Personally, I think he should go somewhere in the 5-7 range. Now I've only seen him play live a few times and I know there are lots of people who think he should go 3rd who see him play all the time.

I would take Drouin or Lazar over him, but that's just me.

I really don't see that. May I ask why you would take Lazar over Sean?

Seems like posters and scouts alike have forgotten about Anthony Duclair. No way he falls out of the first round, probably settles into the top 15.

Its insane how there is about 12-13 top 10 caliber players in this draft.

Still waiting on Tyler Hill's name to show up

HA! Crus-Rydberg! Havent heard him talked about here in a while after the initial hype.
