I really dont see a basis to block this trade, unless someone fails there physicals, just because fans are unhappy is not a reason to block a trade, nor is it if Owners are unhappy there GM didn't get in on this first.
I mean realistically we have a very rich owner that can easily afford these contract so I see no reason to justify MLB cancelling the trade.

I know one reason. But thats just my conspiracy theory talking
I know its unlikely to be vetoed, but the funny part of it all if that were to happen is the people who would then turn around and blame AA and Rogers for it lol.
Posted by Nicolino yesterday. I dunno I guess Reyes, Buerhle, and Johnson haven't made their LONGGG trek up North lol. Jeez couldn't be any slower.
DeSclafani is there with him, too. According to the twitter he met with the marlins strength and conditioning coach, so i take it they're there for physicals.
DeSclafani was in NJ flew in to Miami and met up with Nicolino. All I'm saying, is how is this not done yet? Shouldn't take 2-3 days to get a physical, these guys found late Tuesday night. Usually after a trade their in their new cities within 24 hrs.

Sportsnet now has it on their front page. This isn't a slam dunk done deal, folks. There is some serious doubts as to this being approved. Don't shoot the messenger.

It's in reference to a Jim Duquette interview, that didn't tell us anything new. All it says is that Selig is unhappy with the optics of the whole thing, which we already know. Doesn't mean he's going to veto it.

True... and I hope you're right but something about this stinks. I wouldn't be shocked at all if this deal is vetoed. This should be taking so long. If it was going to be approved it wouldn't it be done in a day like most trades? The Dodger/BOS deal didn't even take a day.
I wouldn't go that far. AA would just move on to other things and potential just lighten the deal with the Marlins. Fans would be furious I'm sure but it wouldn't cause the loss of the franchise. Not even close.
This. In the extremely unlikely event that the deal is vetoed, it's no big deal. They Jays are still in a position to make the moves we expected them to make before this opportunity arose, and they have signalled to free agents that they're serious about contending, so the odds of getting guys to sign here is better than it was before the trade. But by all means, people, :panic:
I'm done with this sport if they don't approve this. I bet New York and Boston have no problems with this trade if the were the Jays in this situation.
