You won't need to play Borderlands to pick up Borderlands 2. The game's story is more about just being absurd and silly. I think the second one is a bit better in this regard actually.
The only advantage to playing the first one now would be a cheaper way of going "do I like this type of game" haha.
Don't bother with the first one, it has ZIP for story. I stopped playing because I got bored. Go ahead and try the 2nd Borderlands one, its a lot better, and no need to play the first.

Anyone else play Forza Horizon? I don't get the hype, I'm a major racing sim fan, and its simply not a Forza game in my mind. Even on the hardest difficulty with all the assists off, its too easy, and the physics feel way to arcadey

I love Forza Horizon, loved every forza game. Hate Gran turismo...driving 30 km/h following a line isnt my idea of fun. Forza has the perfect mix of sim and arcade. Granted I havent played an old forza in months or years so maybe thats why im not noticing its different
Any Halo fans who lost faith in the franchise or got bored. Halo 4 multiplayer is absolutely amazing. its like they ignored Reach which I hated, its a perfect mix of Halo 3 with a sprinkling of COD thrown in. So satisfying to shoot and the sound effects are awesome

That might explain it. It's similar, but when you play another forza game (I play Forza 4 a LOT) and then play Horizon, the handling feels distant, and its almost impossible to spin out, regardless of how violently or how sideways you thrash the car
That's why I stopped playing it. It was boooooooooring. 2nd does have a story though, not a crazy over the top kind of story, but mixed with all the other fun stuff enough to keep you interested.
Friend of mine has been complaining about instant respawn in Halo 4, which I find pretty funny. Was never a problem in other shooters, where if someone respawned in front of you they had nothing and you got another free kill out of it.

In the ten hours or so I've logged into it, I've never seen a spawn happen right in front of me (or spawned with enemies near). This game doesn't have an issue with spawn camping.
But then again, I only play Infinity Slayer and Regicide.

The problem isn't spawn camping, it's that apparently you can kill someone a couple of times only to have them instant respawn within proximity. Now they have full health and you don't, so eventually they're going to kill you back.
Sounds like a flaw from the combination of respawning with a weapon that can actually do damage and a lack of health/armor pickups.

Never seen it happen and me, my bro and my friends combined play alot of Halo 4. Never heard this complaint from anyone
Just played some single player this weekend. The graphics alone are insane. I did the first level and the graphics didnt change from the cutscene to gameplay. After that I played co op, the graphics take a bit of a hit with multiple players on one xbox and tv but still a very good looking game
Totally been playing the hell out of Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 for the last month. Those games are 10+ years old and can still keep me more entertained than most of the blockbuster games released nowadays.
that sucks kinda. i wish they would just have a nice short 5 little eppy like monkey island (the new one)
So you are not a fan of a continuous progressive story? I am not a big fan of episodic gaming, but its the walking dead, the comics keep going and going, why should the game not? lol
