What do you think about Mike Weber? I got some inside information that he may sign for my team here in Norway in a couple of days, so wondering what you guys think of him!
Its not confirmed in anyway, but heard that if a chunk of games are canceled again he's coming over.
In the NHL he's a serviceable 6-7 depth guy. Some nights he's looked better, but not many. He has the occasional hand grenade moment. If he keeps his game simple he'll be pretty effective.
Decent stay at home defender. Has a very limited offensive game and probably won't touch the powerplay, but he's good in his own end and on the penalty kill. Won't do anything that makes your jaw drop, but generally doesn't allow anything that makes you facepalm, either. Can be beaten with speed, but it's not super often. Just a steady, quiet defensive defenseman, would be a good addition to a team, especially if he's not facing insane talent.
One of the worst defensemen in the NHL with the puck on his stick in his own zone and under pressure. Very vulnerable against a heavy forecheck. Not much of an offensive presence in the offensive zone, but not lost, either. Good on the PK. Willing to block shots and play the body.
In the NHL, he's a serviceable stay-at-home, physical 6-7 defender. Still young, so he could solidify himself as a solid bottom pairing guy yet. He's coming off a pretty rough season, though.
Not sure what the rules are on fighting on your league, but he's also willing to drop the gloves. That being said, he's really really bad at fighting on skates.
