SANTA CLARA -- Jim Harbaugh was scheduled for a minor procedure to address an irregular heartbeat Thursday, prompting what players were told would be a one-day absence for their head coach.
"Coach Harbaugh always tells us he's tougher than a $2 steak. We know he's going to be all right,'' linebacker Patrick Willis said.
Harbaugh, 48, spent Thursday at Stanford Hospital a day after experiencing what ESPN.com reported were chest pains.

I was thinking this on the way home, and wanted to get other opinions, even though it may come across a silly question? Is Posey at least in the conversation already for Hall of Fame? 2 world series rings, rookie of the year, Comeback player of the year, MVP, Slugging awards, lead the league in Batting average, has shown, by contrast from the 2010/2012 seasons to the 2011 season how important he is to this team, and he's probably not even in his prime yet. I know it comes down to he needs to play more than one full season, but this is quite a resume he has built up in his short career. It's incredible how awesome this guy is, and how better he could be in the future. I'm glad he's representing the Giants and San Francisco.
If Posey continues his career on this path he will be a HOFer.
However, it is way too early to seriously discuss it. He has played 1 full season start to finish as a catcher. His career average and longevity is impossible to predict right now. It is however looking very promising.
At this point I think Posey would be my #2 pick behind Trout if I was starting a team from scratch.
He's had a great individual and team success start, but the guy has only played 2+ years. He has to play more years at this elite level before he can be talked about as a hof candidate.

Just when it was looking like a non SEC year - it's likely that #3 Notre Dame will end up playing either 'Bama or Georgia for the BCS Championship (unless they lose to USC next week).
Unfortunately I dislike all of Notre Dame, the SEC, Oregon and USC.
Fortunately, I dislike Notre Dame less than I dislike the SEC, dislike the SEC less than I hate Oregon, and hate Oregon less than I hate USC.
And Stanford now has the inside track to the Rose Bowl.

You got that reversed. Oregon was #2, K-State was #1
Still, a great win for Stanford and hopefully they can win next week too.
San Jose State football, my friend. 9-2 with a win last night over BYU on national television, and looking to go to ten wins for the first time in 25 years, and only the third time in the bowl era. They host recently ranked Louisiana Tech next Saturday night, again on ESPN2 at 7:30.
I'm pretty well convinced Stanford has the best defense in the country, and that this is the best defense in Stanford history. I love it. The idea of potentially going to a third straight BCS bowl is mind boggling to me, but also awesome
The only downside to this is that the idea of Notre Dame going to the national championship makes me ill. I hope $C manages to beat them, probably the only time I'll ever root for the Trojans.

Local, cheap, and good.
Damn good team. Them, LA Tech and Utah St. are 3 of the best teams from a division no one knows about.
