you might want to put something of value for one of the best goalie prospects in the game...

So... 3 nearly valueless players that the Hawks don't want, for a very valuable goalie prospect that the Panthers desperately need.

Why would Florida even consider this?

Since when are Morin and Beach valueless and unwanted?

Nevermind, I didn't realize two goal scoring, chippy powerforward prospects weren't enough to get a talented young goalie.

If you're asking for a team's blue-chip prospect in a prospect swap, you'd have to give up one of your own blue-chippers.

Saad/Teravainen would probably need to be involved for Florida to consider.

Although I think the Hawks have a decent shot at drafting Fucale in the draft, so it might be better for them to target him before acquiring other goalie prospects at a steep price. Or go after an established goaltender, as they're looking to compete now.

Ya, Florida doesn't touch this with a 10 foot pole.

I'm sure Tallon would love Beach, but instead of Morin you would have to add TT or Saad.

Yeah, I couldn't give up TT or Saad alone for him. If that is the price, pass.

thats because every so often we get a phaneuf or nash deal where a big name gets dumped and people think that thats the rule not the exception

Panthers wouldn't do this and Hawks shouldn't give up Morin + Beach for a guy who already has questionable health going forward

Would Chicago be interested in Malcom Subban?

If so, what would he be worth?

I doubt Hawks would be looking for goalie prospect via trade

They would want a possible solution from NHL ranks to fill G void. A guy like Bernier in LA with NHL experience and #1 upside

He's a sniper, who needs to improve his skating. I'd say Sharp minus the positional versatility.

Great sniper, plays a bit of a chippy game. Lackluster skating, average hockey sense.

He did play his way into an NHL tryout in 2011, but since his concussion that year, he's been progressively sinking down the depth chart. The emergence of Saad, Beach, and arguably Stalberg haven't helped him any.

He's been looking good in the AHL this season, but it's starting to look like a logjam at LW, and I think either him or Beach will be the odd man out.

All I can think is Vancouver must be really into those players if that is the case and why not offer it to them first. No way I see Florida taking this package. Did it pain you that Akim Aliu was no longer around as a guy you have lost faith in to throw in this package as well?
