The Pascal LeClaire thread yesterday had me thinking of the playoff games against Pitts and I realized there was 15 min clips of the games on youtube and MAN was it amazing to sit back and relive those moments.

Notes: Regin was absolutely brilliant that series and you can tell from the videos. He still has a lot of skill if he gets his game back on track.

Think I'll watch the game 5 clip and skip over game 6. Watching that lead evaporate the first time was painful enough.

The game 6 no goal that would've made it 4-1 Senators sends me into a blind rage everytime. Watch out local cats.

Cullen was such a beast that series. Best rental ever.

Also, holy **** was Karlsson bad defensively back then. The difference between then and now is unreal.

Even offensively you can see the huge difference. He would have been able to score at least 2-3 goals or caused them to happen in overtime.

And mind you, he was still one of our best players in that series. He contained Malkin everywhere except the PP. Sutton's footwork did not help. To think that player got even better and could STILL get better.

**** the lockout. I agree though, Cullen was amazing, wow. I think Hoffman can be a guy like him but I'd completely welcome back Cullen with open arms.

He gave us some awesome hits and for that reason alone I liked him.

Man, our crowd was SOOOO much better. Ottawas crowds have a bad rep, and I will never understand why.

God I loved Sutton. Man was feared, you could see it when forwards came down his side. Not a great D man, but a good depth guy.

I enjoyed watching those Sutton clips.

Except for when I heard "Clouston", and when Sutton received penalties for clean hits.

Largely because of the mad-dash at the 10 minute mark of the 3rd during most regular season games, but also because of our "do something good, and then we'll cheer" attitude that may or may not still exist.

Also other cities hate politicians more overtly than we do, and Ottawa is synonymous with politics to them ----> easy to pile on. Whether there's evidence supporting it, or not.

I have this picture from the Ottawa sun from god knows when of Hossa in our away jersey diving/tripping over Belfour. Have never ever found it online wondering if anyone knows what I am talking about or can find it?
Edit: It's from a playoff game if that helps any.

I remember that ! one of my all time favourite goals.

Hossa in on the breakaway, Belfour tries to do the hasek by doing a stack pads/dive, Hossa trips over him and in mid air hits the empty net.

I loved that goal.

I rem3ember telling everyone I knew that we should trade Emery after the SCF. I just didnt see a true #1 in him and thought his value would never be higher.

Never thought his value would plummet like it did though.
