about how many points would a team need to secure a win

In today's NBA, I was curious what fans thought would be a reasonable amount of points for a team to score in order to have a better shot at winning. Now obviously you might have a team that wins 79-66 or 87-80 or something like that but usually, scoring 79 points doesn't give you a great shot at winning. It seems like these days, many teams are scoring well above 100 points and it seems like if you don't score at least around 98 points, you're screwed. Yes, defense plays a role but I was just wondering.

Yep, to be a winning team you need to be putting up around 25 per quarter. I think you just started and ended your own thread?

It's all relative to how good your defense is. Many teams last year with winning records were in the bottom half of the league offensively but were top teams defensively, then a team like Denver leaked points big time but were amongst the top offensively, enough to compensate how many they allowed.

If your team can shoot 3s, you're never out of a game. Other than that it's quite arbitrary.
