Yea I heard the Knights might be in on him and that he's definitely going to the OHL even if it's not London.

In this case, refer to Brynäs.

But saying, i'll sign with team xxx and not yyy.
And then 2 days later say i'm going to sign with team yyy.
That's looks pretty bad..

Who knows what's true, he's lied at least once.. maybe the CHL is his next lie.. i'm signing with a KHL team might be his new thing tomorrow.

I just think it's unprofessional.

That's fair enough, because he isn't a professional yet.

Sounds like a wise choice for him after all. He's been in North America before and he'll be playing a lot of games against good competition. A lot of goalie talent leaving Sweden at the same time now though, that's a little sad.

That's a classy move, good kid. You can't be hard on an 18 year old kid.. Not all of these kids have the maturity of a Sidney Crosby...

McDavid and Dansk will be something to watch...

Erie will make the playoffs forsure.

Really surprised he went with Erie over some of the other teams in the OHL. Sure, Erie got McDavid, but they're still by far not a top contender in the league yet. I was almost certain he was going to London.

So his statistics are pretty bad. Is it a product of his team? Can anyone weigh in who watches regularly? Thanks!

He's played pretty average, and his defense is horrawful. If he stays with the team next year, he should see a lot of improvement

Bump, never saw him as a good prospect even during his success in Erie and the WJC I could tell his mechanics were off and in the WJC he was always leaving huge rebounds that would need to be cleared. He struggled in the OHL playoffs last season and is having a rough start to this season. Anton Forsberg has clearly supplanted him on the depth chart.

He's a decent goalie but has always been a bit overrated. He also should have stayed in Brynäs where they know how to develop goaltenders.

What exactly happened to Oscar Dansk?

I wanted the Flames to draft him back in the 2nd round, not realizing he was drafted so early by Columbus. He seemed to have a promising career, but he's only average in the SHL right now, and I get that goalies take longer to develop. However Forsberg and Korpisalo have already significantly buried him in the depth chart, it's not even funny.

He is still part of the 50 max contracts in the Blue Jacket organization. This is the final year of his entry level contract. You are correct, he started with such promise, but got shelled in the minors after coming to North America. He stated he was going back to Europe to rebuild his game. He has played in the Swedish League last year and currently.

You are also correct that Forsberg and Korpisalo have passed him on the depth chart. In addition the CBJ have a promising prospect that chose to remain in Europe waiting to see how the logjam gets settled. Elvis Mezerklins is the only hockey playing Elvis at the current time. Here is the recent info on Dansk.

Would Columbus explore trading him? The Flames don't really need any goalie prospects anymore, but Edmonton, Nashville, and Ottawa could use one.

Probably, but Dansk has no value. At this point in his career he's not a professional goalie.

You point out the two players that have passed him. I would think they would and it would probably be fairly cheap. Not certain how you would plug him into your team, but I doubt that CBJ would re-qualify him come June 30. I don't know if that would make him a Group IV Unrestricted or if he has to go back into the draft. I would guess a low round pick or a depth player would do it.

It sucks that Ortio and Dansk both had so much promise and aren't in the league anymore (Well Dansk was never here to begin with). I hope Ortio comes back, and Dansk signs with another team.

I think he'll do better than Driedger or O'Connor personally. However, O'Connor is beginning the year very well.

Dansk has been playing pretty well. Rögle's just not a very good team, but he did shut-out Djurgården recently. That was his second shutout of the year.

I don't see the Jackets resigning him with so many goalies in the pipeline, but I could see him coming back over to North America next season and playing in the ECHL to at least try to earn another NHL contract.

Dansk is playing in a professional league as a starter for the second season in his career. At the age of 22. He is far more than a professional goalie.

Just because someone thought it was a great idea to go over to North America in the first place before completing his Northern goalie education... I do not think Dansk should rush that way so hastily again.
