It is difficult to really pull the trigger on trades just because I joined the league with a team I wasn't familiar with, so I am just now getting the hang of the value of my players.

Couturier is a great 2nd line C prospect but he's never going to develop great speed or elite offensive stats.
Durability does scare the c**p at of me, specially since one week into this year Couture went down for 40 games and forced me to look for another player.

Confirmed. We had a need for help on defense, and we address that with a player who can be a shutdown shotblocking machine for the next 5 years or so.

That was my regular season deal, I still have my deadline deal left.

Washington and Toronto have agreed upon a deal.

Toronto gets:
Stan Galiev (prospect)
Tom Wilson (prospect)
Jason Chimera

Washington gets:
Lupul
Gyberg (not a roster player, just a minors player to match contract #s)
Fraser(not a roster player, just a minors player to match contract #s)

Glad we could come to a deal Gunn!

Toronto gets a couple solid prospects, and Washington improves for a cup run (or early playoff exit )

I've gotta make the playoffs first! Not looking past that, there's some real good teams that keep pushing the pace and challenging to take away playoff spots. And who knows how my team will fare in the double advances coming up...

Chimera will also look good with Clutterbuck on my 3rd/4th line.

Future line of Wilson - Monahan - Galiev... I can see it now!

"Habs are on the verge of picking up a top-flight, underrated offensive dman, hearing Brewer is involved. E4"

Confirmed. This is my deadline deal.

I've had an OFD void since trading Markov, Ehrhoff should fill that very nicely! Stings giving up Gallagher but Armia is a similar prospect plus a few inches. I had an extra 2nd pick so no qualms giving one up.

I mulled this deal over quite a bit, wondering what others think?

My D now lines up thusly:
Vlasic(84)-Subban(87)
Ehrhoff(83)-Gorges(83)
Emelin(74)-Weber(76)
Tinordi(71)-Diaz(75)
Steskal(75)

Since a couple of my deals apparently fell through, are still looking to move some of the players from my trading block at the deadline.

Brown, Heatley and Roy are still available. I have a deal in place for Brown, and I will likely accept it tomorrow, so get your offers in now.

how so? I've kept the Habs defensemen that I actually like (aside from Markov, but you have to give to get) Subban, Gorges, Emelin, Diaz, Tinordi...the rest (ie Bouillion, Kaberle) are horrid IMO, much happier with Vlasic and Ehrhoff.

Still have the mainstays up front too like Plekanec, Patches, Cole and Eller while adding Vinny and Purcell.

the best move you did was trading Desharnais.

Not sure if or not, but with Vinny, Plekanec and Eller on the team and Gally on the rise, there was just no space for him.

If I was running Tampa at the time of that trade, I wouldn't have accepted that. The past GM was a complete moron. You already have Stamkos and Lecavalier, so why not trade for Desharnais and Stastny?
