TSN was showing Jokinens shootout magic from the 2005-06 season, I forgot how amazing he was that year. Same move always scored.
Fun year that was, until the playoffs of course.
Juicy's same move (minus the Detroit and Boston games) were awesome to watch, but that double hit of Zubov THEN Jokinen was what made it amazing. Zubie was amazing to watch in the shootouts. The slight little move he would make right before he raised it just below the bar. Ahhhhhh how I miss him so.

Exactly, it was the 2 moves working in concert with each other that made them so deadly. Zubov's backhand opened up just enough room for Jussi's forehand.
I'd like to see teams and players approach the shootout more as a series of interconnected events rather than just a procession of individuals doing whatever they want.
Hell ya. Lol I was in 6th-7th grade when that came out and dug it at the time. Kind of dumb looking back, but the whole "faceoff/sprint for the ball" thing was pretty cool.
XFL also introduced the wire cams that are ubiquitous in the NFL today.
Maybe one day the NHL will be remembered for its technological innovations as well.
I'm not so doom and gloom as Cin, but I suspect I'm slightly younger. Maybe when we go through the next lockout I will feel more doom and gloom than I do now, or maybe by then a sense of apathy will have glazed over me toward sports in general.
I wouldn't worry about it, it's just posturing. The PA knows their time is running out to squeeze more out of the NHL, and the NHL has this in their back pocket for when the PA pulled this out. To me, this is the end game and we'll have hockey by Jan 15th.
I was at Academy earlier and saw this. Ya, there's no season, but seriously? How does this not fall under marketing fail? Look who's on the cover of the 2013 Official Dallas Stars Calendar:
(The picture is normal on my phone, but flipped on here).
Found this beauty. Apparently they really want to push products of players who aren't even here anymore.
O nice. Looks like they swapped Ott and Grossman. I guess whoever makes these forgets that the type of people who are going to buy a Stars calendar will notice who's on the cover. #idiocracy. Maybe Roman Turek will be on the next batch.
There's a nice behind the scenes video with Oleksiak on the official site. Pretty entertaining and significantly better than the stuff they usually post. Here's a link: http://video.stars.nhl.com/videocent...190761&lang=en

I got that for Christmas.
Grossman is on the cover of mine, and Dvorak is one of the months.
Grossman is also listed as Wandell on his month.
I'm thinking this is a return.
