Hamilton - Harrington
Murray - Reilly
Oullette - Reinhart
Murphy
Subban
Comrie
3 draft eligible forwards seems excessive by Hockey Canada standards, especially in a lockout season, but the forward depth in the past 2 drafts has not been great for Canada and all 3 are among league leaders in junior. I always favor bringing a young high skilled 13th forward over a depth two way guy.

Looks good. I'd like to see Wilson there somewhere, though.
I've noticed there's a sort of negative connotation on HF around Corrado being on the team. I think it's largely due to the fact that Vancouver fans keep bringing up his name, and only during recent months (which is somewhat expected to his recent somewhat surprising success), and other fans are reacting unkindly to the hype wave.
My opinion on Corrado is that he is the 9th best Canadian U20 defender after Hamilton, Murray, Rielly, Murphy, Oullet, Harrington, Dumba and Reinhart, and thus will likely not garner a roster spot
Harrington Hamilton
Murray Rielly
Ouellet Murphy
Reinhart
Subban Brossoit (it has to be somebody)
Lines can be mixed up as chemistry dictates.
Nice but to many Youngsters up front HC will not go with this:
We DO need a BIG FAST team, Replace the Bold by Graovac and bring in the youngster Comrie...Give comrie experience for the next WJC..Cause any other Goaltenders Canada has are VERY inconsistent. We CANNOT be pushed around, there will be MANY BIG FAST team...I dont want to bring a team of grinders, but a team that will NOT be pushed around...

That's not my predicted team, just the team I would like to see as of right now. I highly doubt that Drouin will make the actual team. As far as getting pushed around, I wouldn't worry about that with any Canadian team. A bigger concern is lack of top end skill, which has actually come into play for a few years now.
When it comes to goaltending, I don't think it would be wise to give someone experience for next year given the recent frequency with which Canada's goaltenders have been switched during the last few tournaments. I just want the best two goaltenders at the time, regardless of age.

it sounds like from a few posts that we have some consensus of a team. You have my team except Shinkaruk has to fit in somewhere.
The defence is a given but i am not sold completely on Reinhart.
The return of RHN would be a necessity for Gold. The NHL could throw a royal screwing in this team. We cannot afford to lose the better players.
I think our boy Scheif is perfect for a "big game" 3rd line C. He seems to have shutdown skills at his age that nobody else has. But he also has offensive skills too. Not super talented like RNH, Mackinnon, but rather a perfect compliment to them.

I'm sold.
Yeah. I think RNH-Mackinnon-Scheifele-Jenner is the perfect spine, just a question of how to complement each guy with the right mix of wingers.
Something like:
While Ceci certainly has the higher upside, many people consider Corrado to be the better player at this point. Why are you so adamant Ceci would be brought over before Corrado?
Because Canucks fans won't stop shoving Corrado's name down our throats.
Since Im getting kind of bored of seeing people shuffle the same 30 names around, what do people have as an early prediction for the 2014 team?
Mine is:
Hunter Shinkaruk-Samson Reinhart-Jonathan Drouin
Max Domi-Sean Monahan-Connor Brown
Jason Dickinson-Curtis Lazar-Scott Kosmachuk
Brendan Leipsic-Bo Horvat-Charles Hudon
Tom Wilson
Other possibilities: Anthony Mantha, Brendan Gaunce, Scott Laughton, Gemel Smith, Chris Tierney
Morgan Rielly-Matt Dumba
Griffin Reinhart-Matt Finn
Ryan Pulock-Aaron Ekblad
Derrick Pouliot
Other possibilities: Josh Morrissey, Darnell Nurse, Adam Pelech, Damon Severson
Malcolm Subban
Zach Fucale
Other possibilities: Storm Phaneuf, Chris Driedger, Spencer Martin, Eric Comrie

Sorry you just learned who Corrado was.
Draft position means squat when choosing these teams, but on HFboards if you're not taken in round 1, somehow you're more of a project than the guys who were drafted earlier, even though you have a better two-way game.
Corrado has a shot, and right now nobody has established themselves as a 'lock' outside the 3 possible returnees - Murray-Harrington, and Hamilton.
Nobody from the WHL cemented a spot IMO, so he still very much has a chance to make the team.

Not true
Morgan Rielly is a lock unless he falls down a flight of stairs
Im going to call that Duncan Siemens will make the team. I haven't see him on really anyones roster but I think he will make it.
I really think when they had him paired with Murray on the top line I thought they were doing this to get a real good look at him. I thought he looked good in the game and he brings that nasty edge to the game they need.

Maybe its because Corrado's play has warranted him being brought up? However you have certain posters who knock him down, yet not giving an actual reason why so we defend him....

Siemens wont make it, Murray, Ouellet, Harrington and probably a few others have better shut down ability. Siemens and his 4 points on the year arent making it
