Not going to lie, Hemsky is still my favourite player.
I'm excited that he has more and more stars to play with. Too often we forget the period where he was the only skilled player on this team. Can't wait for this season not to happen because of money! Woooo!
weird Peckham is now with the Flames affiliate... does he still want to play in the ECHL? or is Utah just grabbing his rights in case in the future he decides to play again.
If it works anything like the NHL waiver wire where the lower teams in the standings get first dibs Utah was 4th and Stockton is 17th in the waiver priority. As to why he might want his release, San Fran is last in their conference and second last in their league.

He's just been too spoiled being on a winning team that he couldn't handle a bottom-feeder.
30 mins for "abuse" (I assume of an official, as in Czech it's unsportsmanlike conduct)
"55:52 Ales Hemsky because discussed with the referee and received a ten-minute personal penalty. But it was not enough Hemskému and continued his bashing. JUDGE therefore sent him into early cabins." - gotta love Chrome translations
I'm assuming he's getting caught with some clutching and grabbing.
Which would be weird because that was never part of his game before. On the flip side I guess roughing type penalties aren't either.
Oh well as long as they aren't bad penalties it definitely means the guy is more engaged in the game of hockey. Cause the last thing we need is to come back from this lock out and have all the kids rolling and then Hemmer becomes the new Moreau.

Oh nice. Like I said above this actually looks good for Ales. MAkes it seem like he's definitely more engaged in playing hockey.
My gut feeling is that Hemsky is going to come back hungry and with something to show. He is probably regarded by most as the 6th best talent on the Oilers now behind the "big 5"... and you just have to know he wants to show that he isn't a has-been.
Sucks that we can't get this lockout over with asap because I know this would have been a fun season to watch the Oilers.
Great to see Hemsky putting up points and getting involved with the game.
I have always liked him and remained optimistic about his chances when he re-signed. He has repeatedly said he likes it here, and now he's finally got a cast around him so he doesn't need to be the sparkplug. Yakupov is going to find himself with the puck on his stick in prime shooting position an awful lot with Hemsky on his other wing.

The biggest thing for me is Hemsky dropped the demands on the 5+ contract. Sure maybe 5mil a year is a little more than I wanted to pay him, but he's getting that on July 1st from quite a few teams and getting more than 2 years.
