Also, they're one of the only teams who've never had a top 3 pick in their entire history

It would be nice to see the Flames get the first pick;one step closer to the old 80's style battle of Alberta.

why does CBJ deserve it?
The process of determining who is entilted to the greatest statistical chance of having the #1 pick is based entirely on team performances within that particular season. As it should be. If you're going to have a socialist sports system and distribute talent yearly, then the best talent per year should in theory be sent to the worst teams in that given year.

Results determine distrubtion. This makes obvious rational sense.

The "rational" you gave?

Longest cup drought? Why and how your team failed 10, 15, 27, or 40 years ago does not pertain to results and how bad your team is now.

Number of fans? Irrelevant. Does not pertain to results, and the concept that because there are more of you means you deserve something more is of course nonsense. It is like saying Canada deserves to watch hockey more than i do, or somebody who lives in a Banana growing nation (But does not grow them) deserves to eat a banana more than i do.

No franchise player since Sundin? So you're saying you deserve a franchise player more than other teams. Why? Because you support them. Not anybody elses fault your team has been an abject failure for so long.

If you want to change the distrubtion system, then propose an idea, and make your entiltement argument within that framework. Unfortunately for you, under the current distrubtion system, Toronto does not deserve the #1 pick anymore than any other team.

Leafs, because I'm a Leafs fan. Also, we are the only team who hasn't made the playoffs since the 04/05 lockout. Also also, we have needed a #1 centre so badly every single year since Sundin left. If we could draft MacKinnon and trade for a goalie, we'd actually have a great future for once!

Deserves is the key word. I would say Columbus should get it because that organization needs most help right now. In the end we (should) want the league to stay competitive and exciting. The worst organizations in the league don't deserve the top picks, but they need them most and should get get them, that is the way it should be due the structure of the league.

LA kings deserves it.

Flyers for getting screwed out of the 1st overall and Kane is 07 when we were the worst team by far and because I'm A Flyers fan.

Blue Jackets for sure though, even though I don't think they will be as bad as everyone thinks when hockey resumes.

Columbus for sure, given their luck of late.

That said, I think the Flames have a good argument in that they've never had a top-5 pick, period, and anytime they did have a high pick it ended up being a bust (despite a lot of those guys being considered consensus high picks).

Of course no non-Leafs fan is going to vote for the Leafs, because they hate us (feeling is mutual, league! ) but the Leafs have been awful for so long. Fans deserve something for the prices we pay.

CBJ and Isles would be deserving too.

how does a team who has had a top 10 pick almost every year deserve the #1 pick?

Flames pick first overall. MacKinnon finds god, decides to become a minister in Borneo.

Whose fault is that? Incompetence shouldn't be rewarded.
