Yeah. My only concern with him is he's a ****ing idiot. But if he can beat the test for next season, or if he actually is a good player and doesn't really need the juice he'll be a welcome addition.
Right now you gotta believe the Blue Jays are amongst the AL favourites. Another good reliever would help, and apparently AA is still looking for yet another SP.

The Yankess are actually not nearly as good as they've been in the past, so yes I would say so. I would take the Jays rotation over the Yankees for sure, assuming the trade goes through. Lineup is more balanced now too.

The middling guy who is a .250 hitter with no power and who was with the 3rd team in 3 years, or the guy who hit .346 last season and won the all-star MVP?
Plus, if he failed another one, it would be 100 games suspension.

People did believe he would get about 10 on the open market, so I guess this could be considered to be a below market value deal.
I am just always weary about guys who was caught cheating.
The way he handled it also showed me that he was not too apologetic about what he did, as he vehemently denied it initially, and his people even set up a fake website to try to prove his innocence.
He eventually made things right by giving up his claim on the batting title, but I think he is pressured into doing it by all the parties involved (agents, team, Selig, etc.) to repair the damage.
Still, I do hope you are right and he has a great season, cleanly.
He is that left-handed bat that would balance a predominately right-handed lineup.
If he hit around .300, then call this deal a success.
Now I only see a 1B/ DH as the only need.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, There's a lot of good teams in the AL East we have to get through let alone the entire American League.
More then anything, I like that these moves have added depth to the Jays roster. Gose, Sierra, Hutch and Drabek(once healthy) can all go and continue to work on their issues in Buffalo, and in the case of Hutch and Drabek, continue to get healthy.
I don't mind have EE/Lind working 1b. Lind looked like a completely different hitter when he came back from LV. So I'm really hoping the Jays go ahead and promote Chad Mottola to the big club and keep Dwayne Murphy the hell away from guys like Lawrie and Lind...Arencibia too
Regardless...Love seeing the Jays making these moves. Can't wait to head down to Seattle next August!
Sounds exciting—I watched this past years baseball playoffs and found it to be surprisingly exciting.
Looks like they have a pretty solid roster too. I'm no expert but they have too many catchers? Do you think they'll move Buck for a pitcher or something?
Or are they not done on the FA market? Can you imagine if they got Greinke? Or even Marcum for the #5 starter spot.
wouldn't be surprised to see Buck get moved as he has a decent sized contract. But he likely doesn't hold as much value as JPA. They've also got Bobby Wilson, whom they recently acquired and Travis D'arnaud, who is in AAA but one of the top prospects in the game
Long story short, i'd suggest one of Buck or Arencibia are dealt before the season starts. Logic would dictate that Toronto and Texas seem a match as far as trade partners are concerned.
They dont need to take that big of a risk on Hamilton. They basically need a DH/1B. It's the easiest position to fill. Hafner or Berkman would be great options and would come cheap and short-term.

He is a great story, but the dude can't stay healthy, and he has so much baggage.
For 100 million plus, there are better options.
Haren is great, but I think he is looking for 10 million plus.
That might be too expensive.
Still, AA might have something up his sleeve.
I would not be surprised if he flips some of the Marlins guys.
The name most likely to be moved is probably Buehrle.
He was so picky about where he plays, and he is the proud owner of a bulldog, which is banned in Ontario.
Of course, this is my speculation, and everything might work out fine.
