Well the problem for this team is scoring and Kerdiles and Zengerle would both help with that. Basically the entire season now is just winning our wcha tournament games.
I think a better way to put it is scoring depth. Right now, it just seems to be the Mike Mersch show. He's the only one that's getting it done right now. Guys like Barnes, the Little brothers, LaBate, Paape have to step it up. Ok, so no Zengerle or Kerdiles, no excuse. Others teams, like SCSU for example, have found a way to get their players to pick up the slack for the guys who aren't/weren't there for them. No reason why the Badgers can't do the same.
Also, I'd like to see Rumpel and Peterson get a little more support from the defense. In the CC game a couple of weeks ago, Rumpel was hung out to dry, especially in the 2nd period. And the same thing happened against the Gophers last Saturday. Yes, you're goaltending should be good, but it should also have the support of the defense as well.
Anyway, just my two cents. I'll step off the soapbox now.
We could've and should've swept Minny this past weekend. Considering I thought we were going to get crushed. When is Zengerle coming back? isn't it right around the time Kerdiles comes into the picture? this wouldn't be the first time we launched a post-christmas run.
I'm also wondering where the shot blocking and counter-attacking offense is that has been Eaves' bread and butter for the past decade.
Zengerle was out for six to eight weeks and was hurt against Colorado college. My memory is fading but I think that was around November 1. Maybe mid December or after the break if my memory is right. Probably not though.
