Better Defensively: Datsyuk or Karlsson

Curious of people think the best offensive defenseman, or the best defensive forward is the better defensive player

DISCLAIMER: This is not an attempt to hate on Karlsson

What does this question even mean? What color is better, blue or green?

Comparing a forward to a defensemen defensively doesn't really make sense, so the only way I could compare them was relative to others in their position, in which case it's obviously Datsyuk.

I realize the defensive skills used by a dman and the defensive skills used by a forward are different, but its still possible to compare

not which player would be a better defenseman, but which player has the better defensive skills

Is this serious? Datsyuk comparative position vs position is way better than Karlsson defensively. Defending ability by itself? It's still datsyuk: elite puckstripper(if not the best), one of the highest defensive IQ players in the nhl, better on the PK, more physical on defense, more agitating on defense, better on the boards on defense, and even arguably a better shot blocker.

Um... Karlsson AINEC.

Datsyuk can make cool plays with his stick every once in a while against unsuspecting defensemen. That's great for him.

Karlsson is a defenseman who can match up ok with 1st lines and pretty well against 2nd lines.

Datsyuk would be an inferior defenseman to Matt Gilroy. This is a terrible poll.

How is a player that gets **** on as much as any player in the game overrated?

I guess hate is something that success has always generated.

What came first the chicken or the egg?

I think the egg came first, but then it stopped, and then it was all chicken provoking the egg with it's chickeny stupidy, bias and jelly.

I don't really ever comment first about him, just reply to the stupidity about him. I once made a thread before the first half of last season about him potentially winning the Norris. But everything I said in that thread's OP came true.

I apologize for being so, so right. And an apology for being a *****, just for good measure.

Is Marc-Andre Fleury (judging by last year's playoff) a better goalie than Pavel Datsyuk?

How about Ilya Bryzgalov?

Is karlsson better offensively then Datsyuk?

I mean his comparative offense vs defensemen as opposed to Datsyuks vs forwards is much higher right?

Even head-to-head, Karlsson put up more points. No "comparative offense" required.

Datsyuk played fewer games, but they had the same PPG. (0.96)

This was flawed from the start, regardless of intentions.

Can everyone just give us a break from the Karlsson polls.
