That hitting lineup is pretty tight especially if Lind can remember how to hit again.

He's a Cubs or White Sox fan... for his sake, hopefully the latter...

Some people will troll for the sake of it or act contrarian just for the attention. Martini is a perfect illustration of that.

The Jays don't give up any of D'Arnaud, Gose, Syndergaard, or Sanchez and he somehow finds fault with the deal. Hilariously transparent what his motivation is.

Anyways, this is a tremendous addition to the Jays, even if Cabrera takes a step back offensively this season. Moving from an extreme pitcher's park by the Bay Area in San Francisco to the more offence-friendly Rogers Centre should help to mitigate that possibility. He's a slightly plus defender in left field as well (career +19 at the position according to Rtot) and adds another element of speed to what should be one of baseball's quickest on the base-paths.

Bowden speculated via Twitter earlier that Cabrera would have received upwards of four years and $56 million on the free agent market prior to the PED situation, so to get him at $40 million and two years less than that projection is tremendous value, even with his likely offensive regression.

The dream off-season continues in Toronto.

Toronto becomming a juggernaut can't be going over well in the Fox, Turner, and ESPN offices.

Yankees still best in division. But if Kuroda signs elsewhere, I like the Rays chances.

People just say that last offseason for Marlins/ Angels and etc. We know what happen.

Jays becomes legit pretender for now but they aren't juggernaut.

We will see next October who's the best in the division. Can't clearly say Yankees are the best in the AL East.

Actually i like Jays outfield.

Cabrera, Rasmus and Bautista as a starters. RDavis, Bonifacio, Gose and Sierra can play all of outfield positions.

All the jays moves have been high risk, I wouldnt be calling them a juggernaught yet lol.

Does Reyes or Johnson stay healthy?

Whats Cabrera like without steroids?

Can all the young guys handle the added pressure that is sure to come now that theyre in win now, or the negative media attention Cabrera will likely attract.

Lots of question marks, and the guys they added werent nearly as proven as what the angels did last season and they still didnt cut it

The Rays need a bat or two.

If that pitching staff gets some offense, I'd agree. Right now, no.

I don't like offering a cheater that much cash, especially on a multi-year deal. I guess everyone deserves a 2nd chance after doing some stupid. I dunno, I'm taking a wait and see approach.
Melky put up good numbers in 2011 with KC and that was without steroids.

People keep bringing this up as if this is a justifiable argument. Angels didn't play to there potential, that must mean any teams that sign/trade for top tier players are in the same boat ? Not to be rude, but who cares about the Angels and how they performed, the teams are two totally different personalities. Baltimore made the playoffs, but in no means does that mean they will do it again, especially over Jays or Angels.

The Jays had a metric ****ton of injuries to their starting pitching and if healthy they would have been the in the running for the 1st wild card. Now, I would say they are the favorite for the Division.

What happened to Drabek? Unless he needs more time in the minors?

Yup. Drabek and Hutchison are both likely gone until late June or mid July at the very earliest.

Some rumours are abounding via TSN that the Jays are inquiring about Marcum now in the wake of Melky's signing.

Good Lord.

Plus he's done anyway, get him out of your mind and be surprised if he becomes a solid reliever (which is pretty much his best case scenario)

Did he develop that poorly in the Phillies and Jay's system?

*******, he sounds like the Angelo Esposito/Ryan Parent of the baseball world. Early big injuries ruin you for the rest of your life.

A few weeks ago Marcum said if he could and they wanted him back, he would re-sign with the Blue Jays.

Marcum comes back and this city will explode; it probably will anyway.

If there's anything us shallow urbanites know, it's how to get swept up in a buzz.
