I know I don't. In Nashville, people can't tell where I'm from. They just know it's not here. "The North?" is the usual guess. When I say Minnesota they are surprised. "But you don't sound like 'don't cha know you betcha oh yaaah.'" Stereotypes- gotta love 'em. Except the iron range. Gotta live 'em.

People from Fargo do not talk like in the movie Fargo, unless they are originally from Northern Minnesota.

My inlaws and their extended family do to varying degrees. Mostly from smaller towns near Fargo, but still.

It's wonky. Database errors, etc.

I guess I'll have to wait to post an epic rant until it settles down again.

Very true. I never understood it. I've never really heard people talk like they are from the movie. And I've been to the far reaches of the north, too. Couldn't really find it. But Canadians do say eh.

I may or may not have a hangover.

Okay, I do. And no smokes. Great.

I get the same thing in Kentucky. It's really the only thing people associate with Minnesota. Otherwise there are references to ice hockey, Mall of America, and Jesse Ventura.

I've heard people from around Princeton talk like that. Not as exaggerated as the movie, but true to the stereotype.

I wish I had a reason not to drink yesterday. Meh.

Actually, I don't even have a bad hangover. Probably because I stopped drinking at 2am or so yet I was home at 6am. Relying on public transport at night is not a good idea. I waited 2 hours for a train first, then fell asleep on the warm train (2 hours in 0 temperature wearing t-shirt, leather jacket and jeans is not a nice experience), overshot my station, got out one station too early to catch the next train the other way, walked from Vallila to Pitäjänmäki (roughly a mile) to the next station for no real reason other than trying to find the bus stop I was looking for, decided to wait for the next train at Pitäjänmäki for 15min, then got to Leppävaara station and waited 10min for the bus.

I was supposed to stop at the 24h gas station for some smokes, but forgot about it.

Still haven't gone to the shop. I really should. Stupid nicotine.

Oh, and my friend probably spent the night in jail. So all in all, not a good night, really.

At least I didn't lose much money, probably because I didn't really have much in first place. Now I can probably afford a pack of smokes and that's it.

Favorite drunk night quote(s):

Friend: "Hey, watch me bust out of these cuffs!"

Cop: "Okay."

Friend: "GRRRRR!" *Desperately trying to bust out of said cuffs*

Cop: "Ready for detox?"

Friend: "I was pretty close, right?"

Cop: "Yep."

Got the iPhone 5. So nice. Everything is super fast and looks gorgeous. Anxiously awaiting my case now since it's so small and light I'm afraid it will break.

Also ate at Kahn's last night. Holy crap was the food good.

Just got handed a big project at work which made me realize they are in really big trouble if I get a job offer they can't match and exceed.

I think I might have a cold now that the hangover has mostly passed. Still, finally heading to the shop. ->

I should get a smartphone just so I could GDT my drinking.

Something tells me you'd get infracted within two drinks.

Pfft. I'm either a happy drunk or a depressed drunk but not an angry one.

Also, going to the shop wasn't that bad. The walk back on the other hand almost killed me, and it's only half a mile. I felt like I had just ran the distance or something. Still feeling a bit weak, but life is starting to win eventually.

My limbs started to tremble slightly about 15 minutes ago, and here I was thinking I had a relatively easy hangover.

Worst is hopefully over though. I felt horrible in the morning, walking back to home. I thought I was going to throw up when I started to get a nasty feeling in my stomach. Thankfully, I didn't and I still hold my record of never throwing up due to alcohol.

Well done. I haven't thrown up in...18 years? Maybe longer?
