Long shot, as I'm sure most teams aren't in the business of trading away young defenseman with tons of potential. But in looking at potential holes in the Devils line-up, I came up with the following:
1) Young goaltender to take over once Brodeur retires.
2) Quick, scoring LH winger who can play top-6 role & crash net, helps soften the blow of losing Parise
I almost put #2 center on there, but figured Henrique has it locked down behind Zajac.

Ok, so my offer:
To BOS:
Larsson
To NJ:
Marchand
M.Subban
or
Knight
Subban
Boychuk
Wedgewood and Frazee are the likely candidates to take over for Marty.
As for the proposal, I know you can't go wrong with two guys but you've got Dougie Hamilton in the works. Larsson isn't going to put absurd offensive numbers up he is very calm under pressure and has great field of vision. I don't think either proposals are good value wise (its not too far off) or need wise
I think something like Rask for Larsson makes more sense. It's not bad value though, depending on how good one thinks Subban will end up.
I'd do Rask for Larsson IF Timmy wasnt physco.
But Im thinking Tuukka wouldnt be a great fit in NJ because Brodeur just signed a 2yr extension, Rask is ready now, doubt he'd want to wait another 2yrs. Subban fits that window perfectly.
I'm sorry but there is absolutely no deal that would make me want to trade Larsson. The only deal I would consider from the Bruins is if Seguin is coming back the other way, and even then, I'm not so sure I would do it.
Larsson is the future of our blue-line. He has that calmed poised demeanor that seems to trickle down to his teammates. He may not put up staggering offensive numbers, but he is going to be that outstanding all-around guy.
As for the goaltending, Devils don't really need goaltenders. They have four goaltending prospects that are pro, in Frazee, Wedgewood, Kinkaid, and Clermont. Wedgewood and Kinkaid both look like they can be the future goaltenders, and Frazee has had some bad luck with injuries. We also signed Marty and Hedberg to two years, so it gives both of those goaltenders two years to challenge for an NHL spot. If the Devils trade for a Tuukka Rask or a Cory Schnieder, they are basically writing off all their goaltending prospects. Only way Devils add another goalie is if a prospect isn't ready for NHL duty by the time Brodeur retires. Then the Devils will likely get someone older as a tandem for the young guys in free agency.
Hedberg could stay there for the next 2yrs as it will give Subban 2 more years to develop.
Marchand is young, & came close to 30 goals last season. He, Henrique & Clarkson would be a slick 2nd line
Much rather have Clarkson on the third line.
Marchand is a 20-30 g scorer and probably 50-60 point scorer. Subban may be a number one goalie, but is Subban with no years of pro experience better than an older Wedgewood and Kinkaid already with a year of development in the AHL? I'm not so sure they are. Both Wedgewood and Kinkaid have pretty high ceilings as well.

I understand you not wanting to trade Larsson (similar to Boston fans w/ Hamilton). I dont claim to know anything of Wedgewood or Kinkaid, but do they have the potential of a Subban?

Wedgewood seems pretty promising. Kinkaid is quietly solid. It's hard to project with goaltenders, but I think they have great potential. Both have the potential to be 55-65 game starters in the NHL.
I think Lou is hoping that Larsson is going to be the backbone of his defense for a long time, and after seeing what players like Niedermayer and Stevens did back there for him, I can't imagine he'll be willing to move Larsson for anything short of an overpayment.

I may be a Bruins fan, but to trade Larsson would be foolish at this point just like trading Hamilton would be foolish.
Larsson looks to have a bright future and the only question is how bright his star will shine, he is not the type of player teams usually trade after one year.
