I think he's totally regretting his move, and think about it if he signed for Arsenal. First team, starting XI, starting goalkeeper game in and out. Sadly I haven't seen enough of Lloris to make a judgement on him.

Cech has had quite a few high profile stinkers the last few years.

I'd put Howard in the same class as Hart, great athletic shot stoppers but not great distributors. 5-10 is probably where they belong.

I think the De Gea can't handle crosses is overblown English rhetoric.

OMG De Gea is the most overrated goalkeeper currently in the EPL and could be all of Europe as well.

I understand Cech is getting old and is now prone in letting weak goals, but whenever you need a big save, Cech is still your man.

Tell that to the Czechs.

De Gea doesn't let in very many weak goals, it is an absolute myth, just because he started that way doesn't mean it's always the case. He, Hart, Vorm, Lloris, maybe even Krul are all better than Cech. In a year Cech won't even be the best keeper on the books at his club. At the moment Friedel may even be better than him too.

I've always had a soft spot for you guys though I'm German.
I only watched Clemence when he was at Spurs, but he was still remarkable.

The trouble with Seaman was that he enjoyed one excellent tournament then became drawn into the celebrity circuit and lost focus. By Euro 2000 he was outright bad.

I'm one of those Englishmen who prioritises club far above country, so I've always thought kindly towards the Nationalmannschaft. England-(West) Germany is a great rivalry, though.

Back in the day there was no tv coverage of English football at all over here. Only pre-CL matches and pre-Euroleague (whatever it was called back then). So that's what my judgement is based on.

Anyway, I think your last superb goalie was born pior to 1950 what is a shame. Wasted years with all those Gazzas, Linekers, Beckhams and so on.

And yes, only Holland (maybe Italy because we never win) is bigger than a good old England-Germany matchup.

Peace and keep singing your awesome chants. There's nothing like it.

Neuer and Hart in the same sentence is not even funny. But watch Ter Steegen. I think he will be better than Neuer someday.

Jaaskelainens form could put him in top 10 for best goalkeeper in EPL right now?

Playing like he used to play for Bolton

5 cleansheets so far which is the most and I think he's made the most saves (could be wrong)

I'd rate Casillas, Neuer, Buffon at Top 3, then some ways off: Lloris, Handanović, Courtois. Then maybe Hart.

Edit: Add De Gea, Viviano, Valdes into the last bunch

Maybe Krul? Have you seen how many point blank and one on one saves he has made in the last month alone. If were talking about just EPL, De Gea's not in my top 5. In no order: Vorm, Krul, Howard, Hart, Lloris.

I said maybe because due to the Europa League I haven't been able to watch many Newcastle games at all, it seems like they've played at the same time as Liverpool every week this season.

Valdes is pretty underrated IMO. He's had a few huge clutch saves for Barcelona every time I see them.

Overrated by who exactly? Cause DDG gets heavily criticized whenever he lets in a goal. People never seem to notice any of the world-class reflexes saves he makes to keep United in the game.

Look at the goal Caulker scored against City last weekend. Hart spilled it into his own net. If De Gea did that, the media would've criticizing him for months. If you're looking for an overrated keeper in the BPL, look no further than the one in Eastlands.

Matthäus is interested in every international job, that doesn't mean anyone is interested in actually hiring him.

Fixed. But your point is certainly correct. He just has no clue how to sell himself.

He can sell himself to himself well, probably one of the biggest egos in Germany

I'm surprised you guys even saw that. Yeah. Had a look at his managerial record and I think a polite 'no thanks' is in order.

Most certainly.

People really need to stop being polite to him, at this point.

Every club or national team that fires a coach basically has to explicitly say "Matthäus not an option" in the press release that confirms the departure of the former coach, otherwise they'll hear Lothar filling out an application and letting everyone know through the media.

Former world class players have a huge advantage at getting coaching jobs. It's stunning to see how little time it took him to completely annihilate any such advantage.

If Vorm and Krul are so good, why is Stekelenburg Holland's # keeper?

In this dominant barcelona era, you an almost say that Valdes is the Ken Dryden of soccer.

It cant be easy to be watching the entire game with little to do, and then be called upon to make a very difficult save at a key time.

In France, Mandanda is considered to be nearly as good as Lloris and a guy like Sirigu is showing some great stuff.
Both deserve mention in a top 10 category. Mandanda especially.

Menezes sucked. However Brazil are in trouble for WC2014 if their young players dont develop properly.
