'03 Cubs was a worse choke than this year's Sox team. Hell, '03 Sox team probably was too.

Yeah, 2003 Cubs will always be the worst choke job this town has seen in sports until the Cubs find a way to top it. The Sox couldn't close the deal this year but let's not even compare it to 2003, and yes, even the Sox in 03 was worse.

I would love to be proven wrong ,, But so far Stalberg has been a wasted roster spot in postseason while McClellin has been wasted 19th overall and Sox 2012 was a waste of eveyrone's time (Shows how important an actual manager is ,, Not some former player who was only hired because he is buddy buddy with GM/owner)

I need to respond to this one again. 3 game lead blown in final 3 games with the last two games at home. 3-0 lead in the 8th inning of game 6, blown, not only blown but we end getting blown out in the ****ing game, further adding to the embarassment. The team and fans went into Game 7 knowing we would lose it and we did. Were you in a coma for that?

2004 Cubs were every bit as bad as the 2012 Sox. Hell how about the 2008 Cubs who won 97 games and then got swept. Now thats a choke.

2004 Cubs, yikes, the "dream team", ****ing terrible. Add in running Stone out of town, that asshat Kent Merker, Sammy leaving, etc.

Up 1.5 games with a lead in the 9th and a chance to go up 2.5 games with 8 to go and Hawkins blew the game. They then blew a 9th inning lead and lost in extras the next game as well. Then they dropped 6 of their last 8 games.

I kinda agree with him on ventura though. Sox totally collapsed and he refused to do anything about it. just kept trotting dunn out there to strike out 2-3 times a game in the 3 hole, continuously ran into outs and allowed the bp to blow game after game. He blew it, and whether or not the expectations for the sox were lower than their play the first 5/6th of the season has nothing to do with the fact rookie manager ventura went full deer in headlights in crunchtime.

Yup, or how about Victor Diaz launching home runs late in the game in Shea. People were comparing that guy to Sammy Sosa. He's nothing now.

Eh, the playoffs can be a crapshoot. Great teams get bounced quick in the POs, it just happens. Small sample size and what not. 2000 Sox did it too. Neither nearly as big a choke as this year's Sox.

I can't remember, he did give up the extra inning home run to someone on the Mets. That loss effectively ended the Cubs season. Instead of being 1.5 up with 8 to play they were .5 up with 8 to play and lost 6 of those last 8 games. I think they finished 3 games out.

Alshon was a full participant in practice today. Sounds like he'll be back.

Not really a Cubs fan, used to be I guess. Never much of a baseball fan. Grew up in Chicago, and the Bears were my team. Started liking the Devils in Chicago cause of Marty Brodeur, and just never fell in love with the Blackhawks. Eventually moved to Jersey and was sold on the Devils. I despise every other New York area sports team though. Sorry for the life story, nobody really cares haha. I just thought I'd explain myself.

Great news. Gives Campbell another weapon.

Alex Gonzalez and Kerry Wood deserve a billion times more blame than Bartman for the choke in Game 6 and 7 of the 2003 NLCS. Anyone who uses Bartman as an excuse doesn't want to admit that team that we all loved fell apart and that one of its best players (Wood) was horrendous in Game 7. I mean, come on. I was in third grade when that happened and remember it clear as day.

Yeah that's true. It was just easier for the fans to aim their outrage at the nerdy guy who interfered in the play.

Let's not forget Dusty. Who doesn't have someone up in the pen when you starter gives up a double in a 3-0 game in the 8th?

And when someone finally did, Farnsworth took a dump.

Wood deserves a tenth of Prior, it was right there. Wood played his ass off when most checked out after game 6, airplane tickets booked out, the whole bit, just didn't have good stuff that day, it was obvious.

Thread has gone off topic a bit (My fault)

Lets get back to the Bears

No Cutler going up against SF ,, My expectations are for a L

If it happens Bears will be in exact same spot as last year (7-3) ,, We all know the finish

Hope history wont repeat itself
