Everyone's expectations were too high in the first place. They forgot that he was a 19 year old rookie adjusting to N.A. in his first season. Its not like he was a 1st round pick. Give the guy time to develop, not only his game, but socially and culturally as well.
I've had a much more grounded expectation than most and I've still been disappointed. It's not too late for the kid but the Habs have mismanaged him completely and I wouldn't be surprised if he wants out even if he puts it together more. He's not a complete lost cause but his lack of awareness out there has been frustrating, especially because it's not an effort thing. Some players just might not be able to translate their game over.
His first few games he stood out as a positive, but he's been hands down the worst defenseman on this team for quite a stretch now.
I wouldn't be too hard on him, he's got the much more difficult job of trying to drive the play rather than just play defense. In the end that has much more potential to effect the game than what Tinordi or Ellis does if he can accomplish it.
No idea why you'd put him with Corbin though, he needs a safety net.

Agreed, he should be paired with St.Denis or Ellis.

I thought Tinordi has done a better than expected job in his puck movement so far in the AHL. Beaulieu is completely faltering right now, he's not rushing the puck and when he does his decisions have just been terrible.
I thought Beaulieu's defensive game looked pretty good up until about the 6-game mark, and since it's been pretty bad. He needs serious AHL time. I said last season Tinordi was closer to the NHL and I stand by that statement.

I'd agree with that. I think Beaulieu is obviously the most talented guy on that squad, but also the youngest and rawest.
Tinordi plays a simple game well, much closer to the big leagues, but he'll be a specialist once he gets there.
Tinordi-St.Denis is a great PK pairing. 0 goals against I'm pretty sure.

Tinordi is exactly what the Habs need now and moving forward long term.
Like you said, Beaulieu is just extremely raw right now. I'm also a firm believer that playing on that stacked Saint-John's team was a serious set-back for him last season.
