One good thing about the lock-out is a lot of useless players' contracts will run out

-Shelley
-Lilja
-Leighton
-Walker
-Kessel
-Pither
-Harper
-Holmstrom (good for the Phantoms)
-Testwuide (ditto)

Honestly, I've always wanted to see some extended duration of Holmstrom in a Flyers uniform as our 4C. Testwuide... I think he might have a career with another team. And hope the best for him. But yeah, we get rid of a lot of **** contracts. Also Timonen's contract is up and if he still wants to play in the NHL, I could see the Flyers paying him something like 3 or 4M to keep him here.

Didn't they resign Testwuide this offseason? Not saying he'll be back, but its not like they are waiting for his ELC to expire. They still must like something about him. I still remember everyone penciling him into the NHL lineup when he signed .

Why are Kessel, Pither, Harper, Holmstrom and Testwuide useless contracts? You need players to fill out the AHL roster, they aren't all going to be NHLers (and this is the same on every team in the league).

Read added another 3 assists last night in a 6-4 win. Södertälje signed both Grossmann and Cam Fowler the other day, btw. Carl Hagelin is out for a while with a shoulder injury.
They've won 10 out of their 11 last games. Read has played 12. 19 pts (4+15) is good for 10th place in the scoring race with the best PPG average.

Eisbären losing points and Giroux!

Yesterday evening the Eisbären lost 3:4 after overtime (1:2, 1:0, 1:1 / 0:1) against the Krefeld Penguins and Giroux with suspected compression of the spine.

Good point. We may only get 10-12 games of Michael Leighton with a half-season schedule.

How i read on the Eisbären website Giroux shouldnt be injured to bad.
But its bad timing. Berlin plays Cologne (DEL Leader) tommorow.
Game can be watched there:
http://www.servustv.com/

Btw. Berlin plays the Wintergame in the DEL this year.
It will be in the soccer stadium of Nürnberg in front of 50000 fans.

I should never have bought an Eisbaren jersey with his name on the back. Last jersey bought? Pronger.

Glad I made the trip though. Game was of a much better standard than I get here. That and now I can truly root for the end of the lockout.

CSKA loses 3-2 to Lokomotiv

Bryz made about 11 save in 30 minutes while giving up no goals

Giroux flying to Atlanta for "precautionary testing".

UH OH

eta:
Giroux's agent Pat Brisson tells Daily News he is visiting Dr. Ted Carrick in Atlanta, same doc who treated Sidney Crosby's concussion.

The guy who said he had a concussion when he really had a broken bone in his neck?
