Nacho bangs in a Conacher wrap around. Right out of the box and on the board, how ya like that Holtby?

Shots 18-2. Those 2 shots from Hershey defensemen. Not bad.

This reminds me of playing NHL on PS3. Completely dominate and have as many goals as they have shots.

Barberio makes it 4-0. Tonight's a good night. Dominate the whole game, and now Holtbys being pulled.

Nacho scores again quickly to kill any hope. We still have 20 minutes to go, but it's already over. The saying, "you're best defense is a good offense" has been true for the Crunch tonight. Hershey has either been chasing or defending almost the whole game so far.

Great energy tonight. Nacho on a line with Killer and Cons was a bit of a surprise but whatever get's you 6 goals and a win. Really impressed with Nacho for standing up for his teammates tonight. Great game for him. http://blog.syracuse.com/crunch/2012..._flyout_sports. 1st Star.

For anyone who has been watching all or most Syracuse games this year, how has Connolly been playing overall? Does he look like an NHL player? Should he stay with the Crunch if the NHL were to start up in December?

He looks a lot stronger than last year. Everything he did with Stamkos and Gary Roberts this summer looks like it payed off. Another thing is it could be the speed difference between the AHL and NHL, but he's been calm and has made really good decisions with the puck. He looks like an NHLer. I'm glad he has some good points too with 4 goals and 8 points. There's some confidence now if he rejoins the bolts with his beautiful shot.

Here's the only problem for me- He should be back in the NHL when the time comes, but right now, right now exactly, I think some other guys have made a bigger statement. This season is their "training camp" to make the team. If it was a normal camp and there was no lockout we wouldn't get this long of a look at a lot of these guys. Back in September I would say Connolly had the best chance to make the team, and he was a clear cut above the rest. Right now I would say that person is Tyler Johnson. It's funny. I'd put him at the top of the list, which goes against what I said a few months a ago, where I didn't think he had a shot. You can make an argument for a lot of guys. A great example of a guy who has worked his way into consideration is Palat who has done a great job, who nobody talked about making this team this year.

There's nothing wrong with what Connolly has done in Syracuse. There's nothing he really needs to work on. Some players have just been better and going off what they've all done in Syracuse this season others deserve a look before Connolly imo. It remains to be seen if these same players can continue to do what they're doing now up a level in the NHL. I think Connolly can and I still see an NHL player in him, but if I'm SFY and Boucher and I'm looking for the best it might not be him in December. They have some difficult decisions to make when the NHL comes back.

From the handful of games I've seen, it would be beneficial for him to stay in Syracuse the entire season.

And be ready for some serious competition in training camp next year.

I agree with Alb and 04. Connolly looks improved, but a season in the AHL polishing his game and gaining confidence is in Brett's best long term interests.
