His last game was a bad one. Maybe it's punitive.

as per Derek Willis the defense,

St.Denis - Ellis
Beaulieu - Corbin
Tinordi - Stejskal

Nash scratch, Pateryn Injured

And, Mayer starts again, Darling still backing him meaning Desjardins is still day-to-day + Delmas out sore ankle aswell.

If he starts to do that type of coaching why are players like Stejskal, Stortini still getting ice-time. Stejskal was horrible, albeit was only one game but i'd still rather have Nash in.

Those lines are a mess.

Holland was mediocre in the last game, but his biggest strength is his play making, which is completely useless next to two of the worst forwards on this team.

Nattinen was our best forward last game, perhaps they are hoping he can get Avtsin involved but Boyce isn't doing that line any favours, and if Avtsin blows then Nattinen will be as isolated as Holland will be.

Agree that Natinen should be rewarded. I'm glad Avtsin will finally get his chance. I hope he feels the urgency and steps up big time.

Maybe it's because he knows Stortini's role and potential and knows he won't become a better player at this point of his career while Holland might grow in face of a new kind of adversity. Still, maybe.

I'm also of sad of the role in which Naatinen seems to be stuck.

I'm happy to hear about Avtsin. Hopefully he can keep it up.

So who sits when Geoffrion and Leblanc get back?

I'm hoping for Hagel, Stortini or Boyce.

I might be wrong but I don't think Geoffrion will be back this year

Glad to see the Dogs have a good game, great to see Desjardins back as I think he makes a big difference having him in net as I expect him to have a huge year once he gets up to speed after missing a month. I know they said that the coaching staff has been working closley with Avtsin so perhaps it will pay off as the team sorely needs more skill up front so getting Leblanc back and if Avtsin can contribute it should help a good bit.

At least it's a good way for Avtsin to show the staff he wants to stay in the lineup, last year it wasn't a lack of effort, as he worked hard but the problem is most of the things he did just fizzled and led to nothing much or turnovers so now that it's his 3rd season in the league, hopefully he will figure it out now as I'm sure he's aware time is running out as guys like Kristo, Collberg, Gally etc... are not far away from the pros.

The season is still young, but when I compare our player's performance between the beginning of the season and the last few games, I've noticed:

- Getting better: Gallagher, Tinordi, Ellis (he was awful in his first few games)
- Same: Bournival, Dumont, Corbin, Quailer, Naatinen
- Getting worse: Holland, Beaulieu

My report about how assertive I'd wish Holland would be shows more and more. He'll need to find a way to like being pushed around and in the process get much stronger. He'd thought he'd get away from this with his smarts, but that's in junior hockey. Not in the pros.

Can't agree with your Corbin assessment. He's not a Norris candidate, but I feel there's something that can be done with him and you see some improvement. It doesn't mean he won't have bad games. Yet, you see stuff you didn't see before. Don't agree with Naatinen as well, though it's not about the player himself as it is with the role he has been given. He has a much bigger presence now. And I also thought that Quailer was more present before than now. So I could say he's getting worse....but by a tiny bit.

Now, it's important to say from getting better to getting worse, it's no indication as to how their season will become or what they will become in the NHL. All about the ceilings of each individual and their own development speed.

Holland and Beaulieu are rookies, I expect highs and lows from them at least the first 40-50 games then they should start playing more like veterans.

For some reason I can't remember where Corbin came from, could anyone jog my memory, please?

Good job by the whole team,Lefbvre has these guys believing in themselves and their system.Other than a couple of mental lapses I thought Beaulieu played one of his better games.

I thought Beaulieu had one of his worst games of the season. They are bound to happen and struggling imo could be good for him, let him know that his talent will only take him so far. Did you see the one play where he was next to Desjardins and just lays down the ice, I guess he thought a cross crease pass was coming but instead he looked foolish. But he's 19 so better to learn from his mistakes now then in the NHL.

Zach Stortini: Less useful than a Jose Charbonneau rookie card.
