I still don't think he's been that impressive. He still coughs the puck up a lot, and his skating is still average at best.
But the way he's currently playing will translate pretty well to the NHL, I think. He's still got a long ways to go until he gets anywhere near his potential.
Many parts of Kadris's game are "average", but offensive skill is not one of them
Well, define offensive skill.
His shot isn't great (he sets it up quite nicely though).
His passing is fantastic.
His dangles, while they occasionally look pretty, are fairly ineffective.
His skating, like I mentioned, is average at best.
His cycle game, and ability along the walls, is very good.
He's got potential, and a handful of elite skills. It's up to him to put it together. I like the kid and very much hope he succeeds. IMO the biggest thing he's missing is improved skating. If he could accelerate faster, he'd be much more effective on the rush.

I think he has a pretty good shot actually.
He obviously has super hands, and this allows him to corral pucks fairly easily, and make nifty little passes.
Kadri's shot is nice, his release is slow, that's the only problem.
Remember that goal he roofed over Miller's glove last year? The shot was dirty but he took his time with the release (though he had the space to do so).
Last year he was player of the month but then didn't even hit PPG.
Demand he be the best possible, and don't accept a hot streak now and then at this level.

using his big frame to create space and his skating ability to find open lanes to drive the net. He stands 6-3 and is a natural goal scorer with plenty of confidence.
He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.
A couple posters above mentioned that Kadri has average skating... but, while I was watching the game today on Sportsnet, it looked to me like Kadri is one of the slowest Marlies. Looked like it took him five strides to go from red line to blue line.
He looks slower than 2 years ago. The rest of his game is more mature. Same thing happened with Stajan. You do not need to gain weight to get stronger-see Gilmore.
