You never know when you need a guy to get their face pounded in.
When you do, you don't hire Huggy the ****ing bear. Honestly there has to be something about being the team to give Stortini games at the NHL level that cursed the edmonton oilers into being bottom dwellers.
Dogs should use Olivier Fortier's momentum and call him back. Dogs would need his 2-way game and speed. Not my favorite player but at this point, he'd do better than a lot of the guys we have.
wow kadri tore us up tonight. He would of made a gr8 hab
First, he was selected too soon for us to pick. Second, even with a 4 point night, he's still just 9 in 12 with only 1 goal. Smell more like a bust than a great hab.
Still Hamilton got owned tonight. We need more Desjardins and Leblanc.
Edit: Make that 13 in 13. Site had wrong data. Still not that good from a 7th overall in 2009...
I thought Beaulieu had one of his worst games of the season. They are bound to happen and struggling imo could be good for him, let him know that his talent will only take him so far. Did you see the one play where he was next to Desjardins and just lays down the ice, I guess he thought a cross crease pass was coming but instead he looked foolish. But he's 19 so better to learn from his mistakes now then in the NHL.
He's learning the hard way same as Avtsin, time will tell if they can be NHLers.
Sometimes I really doubt Gallagher because I'm just skeptical if his game will translate to the nhl, but the kid produces. He's just hard not to like with that determination. I really hope his game translates, having a pain in the ass garbage goal scorer no matter the size is always essential on a team.
How can Habs mangement not consider Gabriel Dumont as the 4th line center for the futur? He does everything a 4th line center should do perfectly, he's basically a modern day Ian Lapperriere.

Dumont is a great forechecker and energy player but he isn't a defensive specialist like some people here think he is.

He is more suited for the wing imo.
Totally agreed - and put into the right situation, he can contribute offensively. Don't see a 4th line NHL role, more of a 3rd line if he can bring up his play to NHL level.

Minus the size.
But I agree with you, there's much to love about the little bugger.
So judging from Avtsin's 2 games, is his play without the puck still horrendous or has it at least improved enough that he won't be benched immediately once we get bodies back?
Or is his play with the puck good enough to keep him up regardless.

Judging from the two games I liked his game better with the puck and without the puck, then Alain Berger or Zach Stortini.

I think that for a 4th line, size matters more on the wing than center position. I want players who are atleast "Travis Moen size". Anyways, I think Dumont is a better solution than Nokelainen or White for 4th line center. He's the kind of player who would thrive on a line where he has protection.
