3-2 win for Sudbury in a shootout. Galchenyuk picked up an assist and was 0 for 1 in the shootout.
Galchenyuk started off the game by flicking the puck over the net to get it out in front. It was a pretty play. He also used his slapshot for like the third time this year. It went all down hill from there. None of his passes on the PP connected. They were all hard or off target. He even completely missed his target multiple times. He also had a terrible read that resulted in Sudbury's first goal. Sarnia was a man down and Galchenyuk starts leaving the zone before they even gain possession. In the second Galchenyuk started to pick it up a little. He got a partial break, but it was broken up by Corrado. He also set up Hottot for a partial breakaway, but again it was broken up. Around the 10 minute mark of the second he started to get frustrated. He start slashing more, giving players more stick work. He also start finishing his checks. On a 4 on 4, he was paired with Goldobin a looked great. He gained the zone with some great moves and speed and eventually passed the puck to Murphy who shot, and Goldobin tipped it in. Which gave him his only point of the night. Galchenyuk started the third off as well. He had a good steal, and looked great on the PK. He killed some time by grinding it out behind the oppositions net and battled hard. He also had a nice pass to Kuzmyk. He still seemed frustrated as he was involved with Thibodeau quite a few times throughout the night. Galchenyuk had another terrible read in his own zone. All of his teammates were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, so Galchenyuk went the front of the net. He slowly crept forward, only to get beaten as the puck came towards him. The player caught him going the other way and the Sudbury forward was in all alone. Nothing came from that play though. In OT he had a beautiful pass from his own goal line to Goldobin who was at centre ice. He missed his shootout attempt. He lost the handle on the move that he tries every time.
Overall, he seemed very content grinding it out, playing without much flash. However, he also seemed content in not playing in his own zone. He was pretty bad defensively, made some bad reads. Offensively, he was pretty quiet. Poor effort from Galchenyuk tonight, especially defensively.

-Connor Murphy was again very solid. Made some good plays and carried the puck well. He's really starting to put together a string of good games after a rough stretch.
-Joshua Chapman played another solid game. He got driven into the boards from behind, but eventually returned. He's a very solid play. He's 6'4" and isn't afraid to drop the gloves. He's also very solid defensively, might make a good late round pick in June.
-Nickolas Latta had a great game tonight, very strong on the puck and picked up a goal. He's a very smart player.
-Nikolay Goldobin was great tonight. All over the ice and created a ton of chances. He's a really fun player to watch because of his unreal hands.
-Josh Leivo was great tonight. Took a ton of shots and controlled the play well. He seemed very snake bitten, as he JP Anderson got lucky a handful of times when he shot. Leivo was the best player on the ice tonight, a very strong showing.
-Frank Corrado was quiet tonight, but very solid. I guess that is like everyone of his games. He's a rock on the backend.
-Justin Sefton was awesome tonight. He was physical and made some good outlet passes. However, I was mostly impressed with his defence. He was outstanding in his own zone.
Not gonna make excuses for Gally, but he could have been battling the flu last game, which could have affected his play in which many were saying was lazy and lacking energy.
