Who Can Cut a Better Promo?

In my mind, Jericho has had the slight edge.

Rock and it's not even close. Best delivery of all time. I don't care if his promo is on his hand, on a screen, or being said to him in his ear... his delivery is the best.

To me, promos are all about the reaction you get from the crowd. Regardless of the style used, Rock always drew better reactions than Jericho.

Jericho, but its really ****ing close.

Everyone always said, if there's one guy that can hang with Rock on the mic, it's Jericho, I think Jericho is better. He never fails to impress on the mic and his promos.

Easily the Rock for me. Both guys great at ripping up the mic, but the Rock was always must see TV, and kept the crowd hanging on every word he said, sometimes for over 15 minutes.

I think we have to separate which one we prefer over which won is better. Rock is better in just about every way. Nobody can hold people that long. Jericho is funny and probably preferred around here as he does a good job with a heel promo.

However... Rock's promo in Toronto compared to anything Jericho does... and it doesn't even come close.

Today, Jericho has the edge. Rock still gets my vote as the best between the two overall in their careers

Chris Jericho, for me, could cut promos in different ways and gimmicks and still own. His honest man shtick was great, his jerichoholic stuff was awesome early in WWE, and his comeback was great.

The Rock is amazing (and most charismatic ever) with his insults, but I don't think he could do what Jericho did if he completely flipped his character. Rock building up to WM28 was disappointing, for me at least, and a letdown compared to his earlier stuff.

That's why I give Jericho the slight edge, but they're both the best at what they do, along with the likes of Austin, HHH (when he's really in his groove), HBK, etc.

The Rock, but it is close.

Lets put it this way. If I heard Y2J and Rock's promos for the first time, its Rock in a landslide.

However, Rock's promos get cliched, and pretty darn predictable over time, whereas Y2J kept me on edge most of the time, especially in his attitude era character.

When they feuded together, they didn't even need to wrestle, the promos alone were all I needed to be entertained

The Rock, easily.

I do prefer serious, heel Jericho though. Especially his long feud with HBK that included HBK's wife taking a stiff shot.

Rock might have better delivery, but it's basically sing-a-long with the Rock as soon as he grabs the mic.

Jericho is more interesting and less "I'm the rock, I'm gonna lay the Smackdown on your candy ass, Jabroni."

I like The Rock though and I put them about even, Jericho just slightly higher.

Jericho easily could be a high ticket actor.

Jericho, but it's close. Jericho has just done it with so many more gimmicks - where Rock has basically just done the same gimmick as a face and a heel. He was terrible at cutting promos as Rocky Maivia where-as Jericho was awesome the moment he stepped into WCW.

On that same note though - The Hurricane/The Rock backstage segments were my favourite segments of all-time.
