Etem is very impressive on the backcheck. At the very worst he be able to make the NHL in a defensive role.

I heard (or thought I heard on one of these 50s-quality broadcasts) that Lindholm came close to setting a record. Couldn't tell you if it was a league record or a club record.

That's pretty neat. Even impressive, when you consider how he's been playing.

Great job by McMillan on the PK, at least he seems to be doing something right.

Springfield was just the better team that period. Holland and Palmieri need to be more noticeable.

I seem to remember the Ducks used a passive forechecking scheme when Boudreau took over last year. They might be just employing the same things in Norfolk.

Well I hope they figure things out. It's getting tough to watch one forward chase the puck, and the other two stand at center ice with the defensemen. Need to put more pressure on their defensemen if they want to score.

Yeah, I agree. What makes hockey unique is that you can come right to the opposing players and engage them. Can't stand this passive stuff.

I'm not a fan of a passive forecheck either. :/

I just really don't see the point. A hard forecheck not only forces mistakes, but it puts you in a position to get the puck back in your possession. A passive forecheck gives the opposing team time and space, and while it allows you to slow down the neutral zone, you're still basically waiting for the opposing team to do something. I don't like reactionary hockey.

Again, they clear the puck out of the zone way to easily. No pressure.

I honestly think this is the fault of the coaches. Need a more agressive system.

Nice fight by Kurtz. Winnik-McMillan-Wagner would be a solid fourth line
