I'd love to see a different #5 starter and have Happ fill in when there are injuries. We don't need a first basemen, but Dunn or Swisher could be an option at DH. I'm sure AA isn't done yet and I'm expecting some smaller moves throughout the winter. Don't think he can top the Miami trade + Cabrera signing.

I feel like the Jays need a Buerhle in the rotation. We have not had a presence like that since Doc. Not saying he is an ace, just a guy with a good track record and a seasoned veteran who knows what it takes to win. Also has a great work ethic. Greinke and Sanzhez don't give you that presence.

Talk about a deep lineup. Interesting to see he projects Lind to have a nice season.
Bill James has always been kind to players when projecting their stats. I mean he projected Vernon Wells to have a .726 OPS.

He's not taking him batting 8th or him being terrible into account.

Greinke has pitched over 200 innings in 4 of the last 5 years. Obviously he does not come with the work horse pedigree that Buerhle has but imagine having a rotation consisting of Greinke, Johnson and Morrow. Enviable to say the least.

Why would you think that when we just committed 16 million dollars to Cabrera? Our Outfield is set with: Cabrera - Rasmus - Bautista. Davis, bonifacio to come of the bench... Gose in the minors etc. the outfield is set... some people need to manage there expectations.

I don't dispute his credentials, however if you can replace his 200 IP with a 3.00xFIP pitcher you do it every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Imagine having 2 Doc's in Johnson and Greinke?

I think some people may need to step back and stop themselves from becoming those greedy knobs that everyone hates.

This. I'm just happy Rogers has stepped up massively. I'll take what we've done so far, not expect anything else and just look forward to opening day.

Agreed only thing I honestly see happening now is just getting more triple A depth for when injuries happen

I don't see how it's being greedy if you're looking at shedding salary in order to acquire said pitcher.

Plus there's no harm in discussion.

I think we might get Sanchez, but only if Buerhle is moved, and a pitcher doesnt come back.

Can we lay this one to rest? Everyone with any connection to the Jays has said pretty unequivocally that they are not interested in bringing Marcum back. Anthopolous and company have an issue with him off-field. Don't know what it is, don't care.

But I agree they need another arm. A swingman, or a starter to bump Happ into a swingman role.

I'd much rather go after McCarthy. He would come a lot cheaper.

Wouldnt mind it. He can DH or play 1B, and we wouldnt need him to catch.

EDIT: He's a Bleacher Report guy, so I wouldnt really take this that serious.

Listen to Keith Law destroy Jim Tracy around 23 minute mark. Baffled as to why Jays or any team would be interested in him.

I get the feeling that there isn't anywhere close to a consensus among people as to who would be the right manager for the Jays. Going to be many, many upset people regardless of who it ends up being.

There really isn't a really good manager that is available.

Too bad Francona went to Cleveland so early in the offseason cause he was the only really good manager available.

I don't see us going after Napoli. We have 3 catchers and he becomes less valuable as a DH big time.

He's also a first baseman though, which we are supposedly looking to improve upon.

Trade Lind for a reliever prospect(?), move Edwin to DH, and play Napoli at first?

I don't think he cares about his value at this point in his career. He's getting a payday, and he's even hinted that it does not matter if he plays catcher, he just wants ABs.
