Nuge and Laleggia are good friends. I'm not sure if he was influential in the pick however.
Yeah I'm not too sure, it's just interesting. You would think they would have asked him or at some point had a talk but I guess you never know for sure.
Just really like the kid as a prospect and after looking at the point comparisons like I said in my last post...I am intrigued.
Nuge did mention Joey to Tambo. Im doubt it was the main reason they drafted him but it probably helped.
To say his size isnt a big deal is false. It wont really hinder him points wise but in the couple games ive seen he did get pushed around and overpowered in front of his own net pretty easily and its only going to get worse as he steps up to pro.
Calling him 5'10 is generous too imo.
He most likely wont make it, but I really like the pick. Only player the Oilers drafted in 2012 not named Yakupov that has impact player potential. His post draft numbers to date have been far more impressive than Schultz.

That has more to do with age than anything.
LaLeggia is in his sophomore year. He'd have to top 18 goals and 47 points to beat out Schultz during his sophomore season.
I have more hope then "most likely won't make it" for him but I'm not expecting him to either, just a wait and see kind of thing. Also, their freshman years are comparable no? Laleggia had a much more impressive year that year (I don't know what factors may have been involved). I also think he has the potential to top 47 points this year or at lease come close, either way just being around Schultz's point totals is impressive and he has done that (and then some) every year almost.
Theoretically we have 1-2 years before he turns pro and then another 3 years (IIRC) before he becomes waiver eligible. That is a lot of time for him to focus on his core strength and start entering his prime physically. Not saying that he's a lock to get way stronger or anything, just that we have time on our side as long as he is a hard worker and is genetically able to get to the level of strength that he'll need to be an NHL player.

Bunz gets the win but not the best night for his stats. 3 goals on 16 shots.
Rajala ends up with 2g +2 and 8 shots
Cornet 1a +2
They need to give Rajala a shot in the AHL. Put him on the line with offensive players and give him some minutes. The kid is outright dominant in the ECHL>

After tonight Rajala is now tied for the league lead in goals.
Nice to see Rajala adjusting back to the NA game. He went back to Finland and got told he was ruined as a hockey player by playing in the WHL. He for sure needs a call up. Got to utilize that excess of prospects and make some guys work on their game in a lower league
lately Anton seems to be playing better. He works hard but it hasn't shown up on the scoreboard. I think his line with Harty and PRV have been one of the better lines. They really forecheck hard and cycle the puck well. Hopefully things start to go in for him.

Can anyone give me a summar on Anton Landers performence and how the coach is treating him?
Thanks!
Of late he's been getting 2nd line minutes and PK time, however earlier in the year he was a healthy scratch a few games and then came down with food poisoning. When he was playing it was on the 3rd or 4th line. He has been playing better of late but not creating much offensively. I'd still like to see him get quicker out there and to have more offensive confidence.
Good to see Khaira pick up a couple goals this weekend, his point totals look very respectable right now. Obviously that happens after a big weekend but a solid 2nd line center is what this team desperately needs and hopefully he can be it!

Khaira is gonna be in college for the next four years and then will probably spend a year in the A. By the 2018-19 season, who knows what this club will need. I hope he works out, but he was drafted to be big, not to fill any particular role.
