I don't hate Notre Dame, but this bandwagoning is terrible. So many girls and tons of guys claiming Notre Dame is perfect and beyond awesome. Hope it all falls apart. I do like 5 and 80, though. Hard not to.
I used to love Notre Dame as a kid when they had Lou Holtz as coach and Ron Powlus at QB
I stopped following ND after how they treated Lou Holtz at end of his time there (And I didn't like some of the treatment of several coaches after)
I as a kid enjoyed Illini and ND football ,, I stopped following ND football
Part of me wants to start following ND again but other part of me says I have followed Ilini and should stick with them
I mean I have seen enough terrible Illini teams in my life that waiting 5-10 years for team to be good again shouldn't be difficult
When's the next Halley's comet? It's probably before we'll see a winning Illini football team. I'm not sure how Zook pulled Mendenhall and Juice out of him bum, but that team was a fluke.

I still remember my dad telling me when I was looking at colleges that I didn't need to worry about the costs and that they'd find a way to make sure they could afford wherever I go and that I wouldn't graduate with any debt..... but he would not pay for me to go to Notre Dame or Michigan under any circumstance.
Luckily, I had long-since discounted those two schools regardless, so it was a non-issue. Going to be a weird, weird Saturday when our family's rooting for USC of all schools....

Not a fluke at all
Zook is well regarded recruiter ,, Problem is he sucks as a coach
It's hard to remove myself from the scenario considering I grew up on the southside, but I'd definitely consider ND a local team. I know more then a handful of people who drive out for a game at least once a year.

If you have to 'drive out' to another state, then I don't consider that local. Just my opinion.
Agreed. It's like calling the Brewers a local team, but you just don't do that because we already have 2 Chicago based baseball teams. Only reason ND gets consideration as somewhat local, is because college football in the state of Illinois is pathetic.
