Do I think that these guys will become stars or first liners? No
Do I think that they may become 2nd/3rd liners? For sure.
If a prospect only "succeeded" if they became a first liner, then the majority of prospects in the nhl would be considered busts

First you complain about the total. Now that the total is in line with where he should be, you complain about the quality. What next? He's the only plus player in the top 4 in scoring on our team.

They're all bad because the team who drafted them didn't feel like it was worth the effort to hang onto them. The only legit players are the ones who finish playing their career for the team that drafted them.

The problem with this post is that your assuming that all of our prospects will top out as 3rd or 4th liners. I can understand how the leafs performance over the last several years could make a fan angry, but to give up on every prospect we have in the system calling them fourth liners just seems a touch extreme. The grass always seems greener on the other side, but when the leafs finally do make it back into contention again I want you to look back at this post and think to yourself was this really the best way to vent my frustrations about the team.

Phaneuf was an Allstar last year. I'm pretty sure that makes him a top talent.
